100% good for newbies, if you are prepared to learn how the machine works. 2 months ago I bought the Aquila X2 (essentially a clone of this printer) and I learned a lot in such a short amount of time.
Aquila x2 is probably a better buy. Same but 50-100 cheaper.
I agree, however, this Ender deal is still very good. Had I not just spent a metric f@8&load on the kids for Christmas in the Black Friday sales, I'd be buying this as a 2nd printer
Good starter does not equal to put it together then print straight away, you might be lucky and get a few good prints, then you will need to learn how it works. Luckily there is a massive online community for this printer, any issue you can google and find ways to fix (doesn't mean you won't find it frustrating though :) ).
Got one as my first printer, followed step by step youtube tutorial for the build and it's been going great. Only problem is you find out about upgrades you can do and the snowball grows. Have upgraded the firmware now and run it off a Raspberry Pi running Octipi. I'd certainly buy it again if I needed another one. Never used the glass bed that came with it, installed a magnetic PEI sheet instead, so good.
One of the great things about ender printers is the extensive community support in forums and firmware.

I bought mine about 2 years ago, had no issues getting it up and running, after spending the extra $10 on upgrading the springs (makes the bed stiffer and hold level better) and bowden tube (for higher temperature printing).
Since then I've printed parts for it to cover the slots in the aluminium extrusion to make it easier to clean, swapped the screen to the left side for easier access, installed an upgraded extruder.
Had zero issues with it, even when I flashed the wrong firmware (100% my mistake) it was as simple as loading the proper firmware on to an SD card to correct it.
Agree with the above points. They're great beginning printers, but there's still a learning curve.
i bought a clone of the ender 3, it was a little bit cheaper than this, but it's my first printer and its a good place to start imo. you can do a few mods to it as well and its great.
It’s $356 for me?
Was about to pull the trigger on this but some ozbargainers have reported too many issues with this. As a newbie to 3d printing, I'm still not sure if this is a good starter 3d printer.
