    Went to store and had a try. My boy did not like it. Part of the reason is this one does not have break.

      Seriously, though: Do inlines usually have breaks? I think you're meant to stop by angling the feet.

        If you're a beginner it certainly helps having a brake. Having to stop by shifting weight or t stops takes another level above "can I move forward"?

        These look like speed skates which may not have brakes. The ones with 4 smaller wheels usually have brakes.

    AFAIK Recreational skates usually have 2x4 wheels and 1 brake with soft boot.
    Most beginner (low budget) skates are in the 'recreational' category. Max wheel 80mm

    Tri-skates rarely come with brakes, and are not ideal for learning on. Their wheels are larger eg 110mm 125mm (higher centre of gravity, higher max speed). It's more cushy to roll over rough ground though.
