Cheap. Saw a bunch of old AC Pros sell for $170+post on eBay secondhand. Not sure why people paying more for secondhand last gen stuff
Because they can't get hold of new ones. I waited half a year for a specific model of Unifi camera. Back then the scalpers on eBay and Amazon are having 3x the RRP.
Recently installed one of these, they're solid performers. I can get about 640mbps down on my iPhone, could probs go higher using stronger Mhz too.
Don't understand the use of these APs.
My ax6000 I can connect 500m down the road.
It's mainly for the more advanced features (VLAN, SDN) and large capacity (MU-MIMO, hundreds of clients).
You'll see a difference when 100~ IoT devices connected to the network.
If an all-in-one suits your need then there's really no reason to go down the rabbit hole. But there are cheaper and as good AC+AP solutions out there that is comparable to a full UniFi rack.

Just imagine what the airspace looks like in an apartment building, or even just a busy street. There's so much congestion in the air from longer-range WiFi, that your network is total trash if you live in the city.
Enter this AP - two or three placed strategically around your house, and you can get a decent network up and running despite the fact that there's 27 of your neighbours' SSIDs all competing in your living space.
500m down the road is impressive. Not sure if true though, unless you're running Asian cookware satellites as well.
