Haha I was thinking the same, good discounts and wide range, will have another look in the morning
Really like the NY0100-50M
Is it for people who wears in right hand?
Looks like it 🥰🥰
As always a great sale from Starbuy. Shame for me that the watches I've been following weren't part of it, but there's some great deals on the list.
Two, "dresskx" watches and a lady's dresskx under $200👍
And I see the green one is on amazon for $210 https://www.amazon.com.au/Seiko-Sports-Stainless-Steel-Autom…
Citizen just seem to always be that little bit too big
Ugh, always 42mm minimum, commonly 45mm.
Yellow dial!!!!
dang maybe it WOULD look good on me!
Is the Bulova wilton GMT a good buy at $579? (Rrp 1.3k) looks nice and stylish but I wouldnt be making much use of its GMT feature
I also like the look of the Seiko premier jdm srx015j but would probably want to swap in a leather strap. I don't see much info on this particular one when looking on reddit and youtube..
I've never bought a watch before so i'm a total noob
I love the look of it. If I didn't already have similar watches I'd get it. The price seems really good to me too.
Hey mate. Wilton is about $750 at true retail price. So it's a pretty good discount.
Regarding the SRX015j it's an interesting piece. It's a significant step below the Grand Seiko league but it offers some very interesting features for the price. It's a kinetic drive quartz but you don't get the beautiful buttery smooth sweep of the GS spring drive.
Regarding alternate straps. I think the steel band suits it perfectly, but you can easily buy a leather strap of your choosing second hand. Either fit it yourself for free or if worried about scratching up the watch you can take to a jewellers or Mr Minute and have them change it for you for $20.
You'd be happy with either watch from a quality perspective. The Seiko would carry greater resale value if you ever wanted to sell it.
Hey Saywhatold and Deadalready.. I really appreciate your informed responses
Yeah you guys have almost sold me on the Seiko. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it at a local retailer here in Melbourne to try it on first (was looking at Starbuys return policy and wanted to rule out any potential buyers remorse!)
With the band.. I watched a vid on a similar model (it literally looks like the same watch) SRX015P1 and the reviewer had swapped in a dark blue leather band which beautifully compliments the blue notes already present in the watch. https://youtu.be/RgAUou8xG10
Anyway I might see if I can try on something relatively similar today.. There's an SBPY119 solar alarm chronograph at my local that looks pretty cool in its own right, and Starbuys deal lasts til monday so assuming the JDM doesn't sell out, I have some time to make a more calibrated decision.
One thing.. Do deals of this caliber happen only once or twice a year or is it more regular? I ask as I could potentially be patient to see what other options pop up.. Ie boxing day sales (i do have an OB watch search alert set
Sorry mate. Missed your message. Starbuy does deals all the time, something else will pop up so don't stress about FOMO.
Interesting thing about the watch game, when you get in to it you'll start to understand the brands and models you can buy that will hold their value for future trades or sales. So long as you don't buy a real dog you never really lose your money.
@Saywhatold: @Saywhatold no worries at all mate
That's good to know and I'm happy to wait and learn more in the process. Thanks for the assurance, mate
I ended up trying on a Seiko 5 SSK001 and the chrono speedtimer 'panda'. I really like the feel of both and I figure as my first watch, I'd prefer something more sporty that I'd be potentially wearing on more occasions than the more dressy JDM
The Panda felt like it wore a little small on my wrist, but perhaps that's just in contrast to the Seiko 5. I'm leaning towards the panda but couldn't help like diameter of the 5 more despite having a 17cm wrist
Just buy the one you like. Or both. Most people won't notice it so it really is for your own satisfaction. If it has any other benefits to life that's a bonus but if you don't like it, you won't wear it.
Personal thoughts, the Bulova GMT isn't that great at $579. I would expect better finishing (for example some colour or etching on the rotor). For a GMT style watch it is considered a good price but if you're not really using that aspect, it may be a moot sales point.
The Seiko Premier is definitely the winner comparing the two, better finishing and attention to detail, moonphase, date and just feature packed.
However, watches are a big personality thing. BUY SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY.
I'm on a cruise atm so internet sucks.. is the citizen ecodrive tiffany blue dial on sale today? Can only see the yellow (I got the Invicta yellow dial so will pass on this one)
I'm currently on my luxury yacht but the internet is good. I can't see that one in the current sale.
Haha good to know I'm not missing out
I stowed myself in the luggage compartment of Artemis and in orbit around the moon, but telstra 5g is working well. I see something blue for sale, but not sure if it's a true ozbargain deal.
got the g-shock gravity master for $319. decent lume and led light which is shocking for a casio lol
I'm not sure if my ideal watch exists. Is there something like this watch https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-watch-bm8180-0…
But with a small digital display window so I can have the UTC time as well?
I'm a pilot so I want a simple, minimal watch that shows both local and UTC time.
Very disappointed range from Starbuy this year, I'll give it a pass
