This is a great TV, we bought ours about 6 months.

        We're already finishing each other's

        @camelthief how's the audio without a soundbar?

        • +2

Audio is surprisingly good, we decided not to use the sound bar because it sounds so good.

I would highly recommend this TV.

      • 😂 Yes, hit Enter too soon.

    • Did you wall mount yours? My current 2012 Bravia is wall mounted so just keen to get in touch with someone with this TV that has wall mounted what it looks like what bracket to use etc…

      • +1

Sorry mate the minister for war&finance turned down my request for wall mounting.

From what little I know, your current wall mount should work with this as it is the VESA standard. YouTube should have plenty of how to videos.

        • What's the picture like in brighter conditions during the day? And also keen to know what the picture performance is like when not sitting directly infront of the panel. My 2012 Bravia is surprisingly good but was last TV prior to smart platform being released so not so good from that perspective

          • +1

@rodpolky: We have a large northfacing glass sliding door next to the TV. Even in the middle of the day reflections are not a problem. The picture gets pretty bright on the vivid setting.

There is zero colour distortion even at almost a right angle to the screen. Heaps better than our old Sony bravia W900A lcd from 2013.

I would be svery urprised if you are not blown away by this TV. Check it out in store if you can.

@camelthief: I can confirm. This tv is awesome. I feel it is better than LG for movie watching. Amazing picture. Amazing sound.

  • I can wait until Boxing day, but will there be a better deal on a 55'

    • +1

      highly doubt it

    • I think you can risk it. Feels like everyone wants the LG.

      • -1

And so they should. Google TV vs WebOS is an easy choice..

        • Me: wondering what the correct choice is?

      • which LG are people going for?

        • The C2 and CS.

  • +1

It probably wouldn't get much lower than this.

  • Free delivery on the Sony one whereas $35 on good guys.

  • is it 120hz ?

    • Yes, but only two out of the four HDMI ports are 2.1.

      • +1

There is also LG CS 55 for around this $1888 from JB, would it be a better option ? would be using it mainly for gaming with xbox series x

        • LG is considered better for Gaming while Sony for movies and FTA (Free To Air).

If I was you I would lean towards the LG.

          • @camelthief: is LG CS new? surprised this newer version is the same price range as Sony a80J (2021 model) while the Sony a80K is 2500+

How do the LG models compare? isit CX the upgrade to CS?
And correct me if im wrong, is the CS model a newer version of the first release C1 ?

            Thank you

I have a link from JB for the 55 CS for 1560 if anyone is interested. Instead of buying from the link I bought in store so I still have a valid link. The reason it's still valid is because when I try to buy it online gave me a verification error and cancelled my order. It was fixed up for me today. priced matched with videopro deal. It expires tonight

    • I'll grab that link please!

      • Turn on your PM and send me a message, so I can send it to you because it's a single use link.

    • Could you please send me a link?

      • If the person above doesn't respond in 30 mins I'll send it to you :) only fair because they were first. Only have the one link.

        • How did you get that price? I would have taken it too if I read this early enough. Do you think I'd be able to negotiate that price, or was that a one-off special offer you got?

    • link please!

    • I can't be bothered waiting, 2 young kids to attend to. First one to pm me gets the link.

      • Gone, sorry guys, wish I had links for everyone!

$1599 from Sony but box damaged. SNSNOV

  • I've been reading up on this and watching some YouTube video's on the A80J. The anti reflective coating seems to be an issue I read allot with frustration. Seems to be a good TV for the price point and as I'm a Sony man I find it hard to consider other brands. Weird I know… lol

    • Do you have any links to those videos I can watch? The A80J is the model I am looking at over the LG CS. It seems Sony might have better colour accuracy out of the box, their motion processing is a bit better too from what I've read. Not sure how they compare to upscaling?

  • Yeah went for the LG 55 CS
