[Kogan First] Kogan Smart LED Downlights (RGB + Cool & Warm White) 4 Pack $45.99 Shipped @ Kogan

100

These are part of the Black Friday sale and turns out to be cheaper than recent Aldi smart downlights.

  • Set of 4 9W plug-in LED downlight with bright 800lm
  • Adjustable cool and warm white CCT lighting
  • Tuneable RGB light with 16 million colour options
  • Remotely control, schedule and set scenes via the free SmarterHomeā„¢ app or voice control
  • Dimmable only via the SmarterHomeā„¢ app, Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa
  • Easy DIY installation using a standard 90mm cutout and 1m Australian standard SAA plug.

Works with Kogan SmarterHome app or any Tuya app. I used them at my previous house for 3 years without any issues. My only gripe with them is when there is a power outage they don't remember their state when the power is back, all of them turns on. This was an issue while I was away on vacation for longer periods of times. I had to monitor them every now and then while I was away.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

  • Any chance Kogan will have freight free for Black Friday this year?

    • +1

They do that for most of the sales. You can always use the free 14 days Kogan first trial to get free delivery and discount price.

      • Sorry I haven't bought from Kogan before. Is Kogen First like Amazon Prime? If canceled after the first month, never be able to get another free trial? Thanks

        • +1

Yes. I have Kogan CC which gives you Kogan first for free. Some people here mentioned about being able to get free trial multiple times. You can always create a new account with new email id to get another free trial.

  • Perfect timing. My kogan first membership runs out tomorrow! Ordered!

  • Run 8 of these in my place for the past year and change. Connected to Google Home. Apart from sometimes one of them will stop working. A simple flick of the light switch off to on, solves the problem. And yes, in this case the old phrase "have you tried turning it off and on" does ring true

  • I found these pretty average. You pay for what you get….

    • I haven't used the other brand smart downlights. What are you comparing them with and what do these lack? I found these too bright and had to run them at 75% brightness. Also, didn't have much connection drops. But I used them in living room where my wifi router is.

      • Philips Hue. Issue i found is that they'd drop from the mesh network every so often and then i'd have to try and re-sync them. Then they'd have issues 'seeing' the modem. App would stop every so often.
Don't get me wrong, i think the price point matches', so certainly not a neg, but for me, i like to set, forget and automate with as little effort.

  • this is true, but ALDI one runs TUYA, which has a lot more functions than Kogan Smart home, i only learnt this recently.

    • +1

These runs on Tuya as well. I don't use the Kogan's app, I use Smart life app. You can also use the Tuya app itself, I don't remember why I switched from Tuya app to Smart life. It was a while ago.

      • can you tell me how?
I tried tuya on a smart blind, but it doenst recognise? might be device sensitie!

        • I am not sure about smart blinds. For these ones I just select lights (wifi+bte) option while pairing and it recognises them.
