It is only 8kg if you are drying cotton, anything heavier and it is a 4kg dryer.

    • +3

What's heavier: 8kg of feathers or 8kg of steel?

      • +1

        Quick maff lol

Have a look at the manual if you want, but…
If you drying cotton the capacity is 8kg
if you are drying synthetics the capacity is 3.5kg

      • 8kg of feathers - because of the guilt you'll be carrying around from killing all the birds you need to get the feathers

    • +1

All brands quote maximum drying loads like this.

For example, refer link below to random current Bosch heat pump dryer manual - look at page 23

      https://media3.bosch-home.com/Documents/9001678341_A.pdf

      • You are correct, I didn't have this on my old dyer but it seems all heatpump dyers are like this.
I won't post any more on that :)

  • doesn't ship to ACT

    • Thanks. Edited post.

i have the 8kg model at home since 6 months, efficient and no issues. Feels bit plasticky on top side, i don't put anything on top. bought with extra warranty though which gives me peace of mind. recommended.

    • +6

Why did your but the extra warranty?
We are covered by law these days.

      • +1

bought extra warranty in case it fails after standard warranty…

        • +2

Standard warranty is not a statutory warranty.

          • +2

@iseeyou1312: Correct, that is why I wanted to know why people are still buying extended warranty. (Just throwing money away.)

Statutory Warranty would be pretty good for a Dryer. 7 + years I would think.

            • +5

@Jessie Ryder: Probably only 1-2% of Australian Consumers are aware of their full rights, the ACCC and Fair Trading are both pretty useless when it comes to individual enforcement and retailers will act like you've come to murder their firstborn should you ever try to make a statutory warranty claim and most people aren't willing to sue them.

              • +6

@iseeyou1312: Yep, you don't need to sue though.
Just Lodge a claim at your local Administrative Tribunal (QCAT)for me.

95% they will resolve your issue before it gets heard as they don't want that on record.

                Call the retailers bluff

                  @Jessie Ryder:

Just Lodge a claim at your local Administrative Tribunal

This is the bit that people have trouble with I think. Not so much the "didn't know" part, though I'm sure there's plenty of that too, but the thought process of "is a $600 dryer really worth my time, effort and money going to court over". I've had the same thought myself. $81 to call their bluff, without a guaranteed outcome…

              • +4

@iseeyou1312: 100% correct. This short vid is the most informative and funniest on the matter to learn what you can get (consumer law prob one of the remaining few that looks after us) showed on the checkout on ABC: https://youtu.be/uE8BB-ioNRw

            • @Jessie Ryder: Depending on the policy it would most likely be easier to get a solution with the extended warranty rather than push the statutory warranty.

              • @spaceflight: Of course, but you pay for the extended warranty, you do not for the statutory warranty.

                • -1

                  @Jessie Ryder: I know
But if getting a remedy with paid extended warranty is easier then paying might be worth it so you don't have to push the manufacturer for a statutory claim.

  • Does this have actual reverse tumbling (not just 5 seconds every few minutes)? How do sheets do in it?

    • seems to say it does on the Esatto website

  • Anyone has this machine could help me to measure the feets of this machine?
I have a old washing machine from The Good Guys white label - GVA G7FLWW17, the top panel depth measures 545mm.
Wondering could this heat pump dryer go on top of the GVA

    Thanks in advance :)

    • +2

The feet are 560mm wide and 480mm deep.
The unit is bigger than that but that is outside feet to outside feet

I could be wrong but I don't believe you can stack this on top - they are about 50kg+

      • you can buy their stacking kit

        • From eBay too?

      • You most definitely can stack on top of a washer (providing it fits) - it's what I'm doing at the moment.
It just needs to be stacked with a stacker kit or stacking mat

        • And a bit of strength to lift the damn thing haha

          • +1

@quikstix: The guys who came to deliver mine (same model) did it for us for free - it's all part of the service

  • +1

Price now is $608 after $50 off with the code. That's a decent price for this unit which has great reviews.

    • Thanks. Have updated post.

  • +2

just paid 589 with this code - nice price

    • -1

Awesome price. They must be clearing stock for a new model.

  • Had a look but all gone

Edit: more stock added it seems

  • What washing machine are people getting to go with?

  • Is there 2nd filter? Or you just vacuum the radiator?

    • No second filter. That's correct - you vacuum the condenser fins (on the bottom left of the unit) - but that's only like once a month or two months

Back instock (for now) I just bought one
