it's a scam because i am out of pocket! I know I didn't read the terms but that's not my fault!
gotten $25 cashback
shopback honouring the cashback from their own pocket, despite they can't claim it back from deliveroo themselves ?
nah if they don't get paid no one gets cashback
$50 now
Not sure a chargeback would work… you got the item, and had some time to spend it. Wasn't SB's fault that Deliveroo folded
doesn't matter if SB is at fault or not
To your bank, it does matter…
well yeah ?
That's not really fair. They didn't do wrong by you or anyone. They could have not honoured the cashback, but they did.
Be grateful and don't be hateful towards a company who did nothing wrong
they went wrong when they got hacked and my details released
I can hate all I want… where's the class action
@Poor Ass: You might as well hate on every company in Australia then. So many have recently been hacked, and have been for several years. They just don't get reported in the news till now. Get off your high horse
@hmac: listen man… i'm just trying to get the negs
@Poor Ass: Yet you still purchased from them afterward evidently?
@brendanm: where?
@brendanm: lol what? I posted that after your comment… what you mean purchase from them afterward, I didn't purchase anything
@Poor Ass: Looks like you've purchased a Deliveroo voucher through shopback, why else would you make this post?
By "purchased from them afterward", I mean that you have purchased from them after this data breach that you seem so upset about now, yet you were still happy to buy Deliveroo vouchers off them when you were thinking you were getting 25% off.
@brendanm: Yes
@Poor Ass: If you were so upset about the data breach, why continue to use them then?
@brendanm: because I gave them a second chance and they screwed up again
@Poor Ass: No they didn't, they supplied you with exactly what you ordered, with a 25% cashback. You screwed up by buying gift cards for a company that was insolvent. That's the problem with buying gift cards, it may seem like you are getting a bargain, but they are simply an IOU.
We still don't know for sure if the cashback will be honoured.
@poppingtags: I spoke too … actually has been confirmed instantly when i bought the voucher and got the $25 straight away
Shopback should provide the cashback as promised, but as for the gift card balance, I fail to see how that's on them - they provided the gift card that you bought. Your ability to use that gift card lies with Deliveroo, not Shopback.
Your anger is pointing to the wrong entity.
`* I am aware that the vendor needs to provide the cashback according to Shopback policy, so they don't -have- to honour it, but it would be a good business decision to pay it out anyway.
so they didn't get hacked and your details not re-leased and scammers didn't take ya money?
@Poor Ass: You're kind of missing the point.
@Poor Ass: If you keep up with that attitude, you aren't gonna get help or consolidation from any ozbargainers. Your anger is misplaced
@hmac: yeah I need help…. lets meet up at cabramatta
@Poor Ass: anyone up for pho?
now they are selling gift cards for businesses going bust…
What plebs, they obviously didn't buy any crystal balls last time they were on special.
Where is the SCAM? Did you report the post as a scam?
Submitting 1 to menulog while waiting for bank's response on dispute. See how it plays out. Doubtful on the bank and equally doubtful shopback can offer much. Best case I see shopback offering something to help you reduce loss.
Sell it on ozbargain
What loss do you have? If you bought from shopback, you would have gotten $25 cashback + menulog $75 it evens out.
How can you call this a scam when shopback have said they had no prior knowledge.
