Swapping Scribd Accounts - Safe?

I signed up for Scribd a while ago - it is a service that gives you unlimited audiobooks, ebooks and sheet music.

The problem with it is if you listen to a particular publisher too much they make all other audiobooks by them have a waiting period, like two weeks. This is really annoying if you are getting into a long series. This has just happened to me.

So it made me think, what if I swapped accounts with someone else temporarily? Scribd won't restrict their access to the same books as I'm listening to. And maybe they want to listen to something that got restricted for them.

I don't think there are any downsides, except that we can see each other's email addresses. If someone does something annoying like pausing their membership you can just change the password on your own account and sign back into it, ceasing the swap arrangement.

And not sure if this belongs in Classifieds, but is anyone on Scribd and currently serving a waiting period for a book they want to listen to as well, who would want to swap?

    think it's probably fine/safe.
or you could get a free 60 day trial for a family member or something and use that to listen to them.
or, download some from the big bad interwebs.

Yeah I am thinking I might just sign up for a new trial, though not sure if I can use the same credit card info etc. My first reaction was to pause the membership and look to download it but unfortunately can't find it anywhere.

just signup to Revolut - you can create disposable credit cards to signup for trials etc.

        • Have been meaning to look into that since I see it mentioned so much in the forums. Good time to do it now!

        • Or even Bano, they are good too
