Hi knowledgeable people. Currently he has a wired rig cant remember model with mic and open back…cost me about $60. It has lasted around 18 months. The mic is now playing up which is causing frustration and temper explosions as he is pretty serious playing fortnite. Present wired headset always gets twisted and he is always frigging around bending mic arm which I warned him will end up fatiguing wires. Also wondering if a wireless headset is the go and is it worth the extra dollars.
Looking for advice on a headset that is robust and a good sturdy mic, I think I prefer open back for parental reasons…but will take on advice.
I really don't want to spend more than $100 so hoping for Black Friday deals…but I will take on advice if I need to spend more.

yeah I have that item for over a year. I really like it. Mine gets daily use and it's still like brand new. Can't comment how it would endure a kid who keeps wiggling the boom mic.

I use $8 earbuds from Officeworks with an inbuilt mic, not fancy but they do the job for my occasional COD sessions with mates.
Amazon relisted Steelseries Arctis 3 for $59.00 which I jumped on this time. He will just have to put up with being wired. Thanks all for contribution.
