Both the Dual Screen and Power Combo have dropped even lower than my recent post

Thanks to skido for the coupon code tips including link to Qantas Frequent Flyer for some points.

There's also a 4.5% increased cashback via Shopback (drops to 2.4% after 10/11/22 at 11.59pm AEDT) or 5% at Cashrewards (thanks mr3v0), but it may not stack since the code is not listed by Shopback / Cashrewards. The cashback is probably worth ~$12 on the Dual Screen combo, ~$8 on the power combo.

Slightly more expensive price at Georges linked below too (thanks GermanKangaroo for the tips). Also, seems like Amazon has price matched the Dual Screen Combo at the last minute (thanks Tohnio).

If you purchased recently in Amazon, I just tried to ask refund on the price difference and they were happy to fulfill it for me. I did not ask for the further $10 difference using WESTPAC10 though as I didn't know about the code earlier.

NOTE: has gone down at d1store and Teds as well, I'd expect this to go down on most other stores in the coming days.

  • well, amazon are useless. trying to get the case via DJI, apparently they are "escalating it" but ill probably just never hear from them again

  • Digidirect screwing all orders and asking now to pay the jacked up price or have order cancelled. Stuff them! X-0

    • When did this happen? I ordered from Digidirect on Friday and didn't get any update email from them. Did they send you an email informing you to pay a higher price or have the order cancelled?

      • Called and was told that they only had a few units and all others orders can’t be fulfilled at that price. Either cancelled or pay the difference to $799. (same for both power and screen combos)

        That’s ridiculous as at this point prices have gone up elsewhere so most customers will be left hanging.

    • Digidirect screwing all orders

      I ordered from Digidirect on Thursday at 2.54pm and got a tracking number on Friday at 5.07pm. The parcel was received by Australia Post at 5.28pm and is expected to be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday.

  • I think that's the problem with the online order, they have your card details so they can charge the current amount. Going into a brick and mortar store to buy a product is still better than buying online where they can cancel the order anytime they want

  • Seems odd that pretty much everywhere is back to $799. I think current cheapest for screen combo ~$650.
    JB had no issue price matching for me, so they wouldn’t be losing money @ $300.
    $500 off seems pretty crazy, I actually thought $300 was the new norm going off the retailers that had it at that price.

  • I just received mine this morning (from DigiDirect). I didnt get the Magnetic Case but after getting onto Live Chat they sorted it out and are sending it out seperately

    I checked with DJI and they said Amazon should have the cases. However, Amazon customer service have no idea about it

  • Anyone who ordered from DJI shipped yet? I ordered on Thursday and still have no shipping confirmation. Getting worried it's gonna fall through now.

      "we might receive the stock within this week and we will dispatch the item once we receive the stock, you will also receive an email for the tracking information once it has been dispatched the order"

      • Strangely got a call 5 minutes after I posted this from DJI stating they do not have stock for the power combo and that I could upgrade to the screen combo for an extra $100. Pretty pissed off about it. I could have just got the power combo from any of the other stores that had the sale price and it would be in my hand right now.

        • It's either cancel the order or pay the difference. I've read here that some of customers were asked to pay for the RRP price of the Dual screen combo.

  • I called Digidirect who told me Action 2 was discontinued by DJI so they are unable to get any stock from them and have to cancel my order. Now Digidirect will only sell Action 3 camera in the future.

      • That really sucks, especially when some have ordered after you and already revieved it. Definitely a poor customer experience from digi direct especially with all the inconsistencies and conflicting advice being provided. Doesnt seem good enough

  • I called and emailed digidirect they claim that its a discontinued product and they have no i dea what im talking about the magnetic case.

    I chat with dji, they said they dont give it out for free rather contact digidirect.

    Oh well, since i got it cheap i wont waste my time following it up.

  • Just had a word with Digidirect since there is no update on my order. Apparently they are out of stock and are checking with their supplier for extra stock. I have been refunded or outright denied but they dont have any ETA. What are the chances?

    • They said this morning that its a discontinued product, also thats why they claim they dont know anything about the magnetic case that should have been included (and yet they are still selling the magnetic case on their website).

    The guy (Dwayne) from Cannington digiDirect told me on email few days ago that it does come with Magnetic case. The staff on the floor probably has better idea than the online team. Though I ended up buying mine from Amazon, which didn't come with magnetic case.. but I managed to ask JB Hifi to price match JW Computers and then use my $10 perks to bring it down to $9 as I couldn't be bothered chasing a free one. I wonder if you can use similar method with digiDirect online and then use WESTPAC10 upon payment.. assuming you can click and collect

    • I should've copied you and ordered from Amazon (at least they mostly don't lie on stock / don't oversell - have had just one amazon cancellation on a steam station iron)

        Yeah, Amazon also has extended return program during the Christmas season so there's always a choice to return it if you change your mind. Shame about digiDirect, unlike JB Hifi they don't show you stocks availability/location on their website.. which is probably indication that their stock system is not always accurate.

  • DigiDirect should have known their stocks level before allowing customers to put in the orders. It bad business for not telling their customers that order is in back order. I bought mine when it clearly state it was stock available on their website.

    Bought the Dual Screen version from Ted‘s for about the same price, there is a Magnetic Protective Case within my package :-)

    I was disappointed with this dual screen, keep on overheating even with the magnetic case. I've returned it

    • yes, it looks like a design issue.

      • I thought it was good bargain but I don't want to think everytime that the camera will stop recording because of overheating. That's why I decided to get the Action 3. It's so much better especially the recording time since it does not overheats. But if anyone is okay with the overheating issues you don't have to return it because its really a good price at $299.

        • What setting did you use it at? 4k120fps?

          From what I've seen these are the max duration before overheats (in a room, without case):
          4k120fps 5 mins
          4k 30fps 30 mins
          1080p 60fps 70 mins

          The case is basically a hack to set the camera max temp at higher limit, so it doesn't actually reduce the heat.

          • @John: The case is just for you to be able to touch it because it was so hot. It doesn't help in anyway to dissipate heat. Also, this is after firmware upgrade.

            • @AirJordan23: Yes it doesn't remove the overheating. I said its a hack. The case has a magnet near the top button that tells the camera that a case has been installed and lets the camera increase the max camera temp setting (probably to hack local regulation that prevents this setting to be overridden manually).

              • @John: You're right about it, but the thing is this Action 2 camera's design is so small that it cannot handle heat in long periods you can only do short clips at 4k120, 4k60, 4k30, 2k. The Osmo Action 3 goes up to 69 minutes without overheating. Its a night and day difference when it comes to usability. The Action 2 keeps on overheating with the case on it. It didn't last more than 10 mins

                  4K120 I can understand, but over 1.5 hours at 4K30 seems fine. It drops to 17 mins at 40 degrees but that's pretty hot, even the GoPro Hero10 stopped just under 18 mins.

                  • @eug: I think those youtubers are from US. They have the 'High' settings unlike us here in Australia we only have the standard. They said that's one of the reason why, please check region to be sure.

                      • @John: Is yours overheating and stop recording? Mine I tried every resolution updown to 2.7k and it stops recording less than 10 minutes. I'm a bit sad and disappointed, I thought I managed to get a good deal for $299 but with all the flaws of the Action 3, I'd rather return it.

                        • @AirJordan23: Testing it just now. 4k30fps, steady on, high temp setting, magnetic case on. Its still recording after 60mins and reckon im gonna stop recording soon. Today was rather cool day about 16 degC but im inside the house with no windows open or fan running. Pretty impressed actually. You might’ve gotten a dud or had vastly different setting or testing condition.

                          Did you test with 120fps by any chance?

                          • @John: Hi John, I did test all the setting. It even says after overheating goes back to 'standard' setting. I didn't check it after that if my unit has 'High' settings. I was just so frustrated since I've tested the unit for a couple of hours. I just packed it back in its box and returned it. I don't know if someone else here experience the overheating issue of the Action 2

                            • @AirJordan23: Its now clocking just over 90 mins and the battery will run out shortly. But yeah, no overheating issue at this setting. Pretty happy with it.

      That's why I was asking if anyone has a screenshot of the page when it was on sale. Digidirect have to provide the case if it says it comes with it otherwise the ACCC will be all over them. Shouldn't have to provide that to the online team but if anyone did, they'd legally be obliged to send one or provide some sort of compensation if they don't have any.

      • I’m wondering if online team is ok to sort it out anyway, even without us showing screenshot. Worth checking with them if we haven’t already

        From memory I recall Ted’s and JB Hi-Fi shows the magnetic case being included on the product page, but not digiDirect. I also recall looking at what’s in the box section and I know it’s not there. But I did email the staff in the shop and they said it comes with it, so maybe try with the shop staff and check with them.

    My dual-screen combo just arrived this morning from Digidirect and included the magnetic protective case. They are shrink-wrapped together so perhaps was new stock.

  • Has anyone who got the email from digidirect saying the orders were't cancelled got their shipping notification for a power combo?

    • After waiting a week for a reply, I finally called today. 30 minutes on hold, and I felt like I still got nowhere in the end. The lady said I had to send a picture of what I had received, including the bag that it came in, which I thought was odd, lucky I hadn't gotten around to throwing it out. So I sent that in an email and am now back playing the waiting game. 

      • what do you mean? are you trying to return it?

        • Not trying to return. Trying to get the magnetic protection case that they didn't send me.

          • @TheLastEllie: Hmm strange. Mine didn't come with it either. I replied to my invoice email ([email protected]) on Friday 18/11, got a reply on Tuesday 22/11 asking if I'd like to pick up the case or have it shipped. I replied saying I'd like it shipped and got an auspost tracking number on Thursday. I received it the following Monday.

            Before that I tried their online chat but no one replied so I sent an email instead. Maybe I just got lucky and got in touch with someone who knew what was going on.

            • @eug: Damn, they said the same to me, but never shipped the case. Guess I'll have to chase them up a second time.

  • I've now seen this for real.

    DJI doesn't flip the screen like the One RS for selfie video. You actually have to buy a separate unit.

    Theres less modular lenses for it right now. There doesn't seem to be an inbox solution for a case like the One RS either.

    It's nice that its small though. As a single camera system.
