I have the i7 version and these are great laptops for the price. I believe you lose the touch (Captive) and the Alexa bar on the i5 model, but if those things don't worry you are an i5 is enough, it's certainly a good laptop to consider if you are in the market.

    • Any fan noise?

      • +2

for me only on performance mode. On balance sometimes there is a tiny amount of fan noise (very quiet) and on power saving nothing I've noticed. In saying that the most active thing I've done yet has been watching YouTube and playing the Simpsons hit and run at the same time with docked monitors and the fan only came on a few times and really wasn't noticeable (was in balance mode). I'm sure someone else can fill you in on games that are more intense.

        • Damn looking back now that 999$ was a steal price for touch screen

          • @CyberMurning: The touch isn't great. It's captive and not active, so it's not like a surface pro (pen support), which was a little annoying, but still worth the price. It works fine for finger use, but I don't think I'll use it for anything else. $999 was a great price, but that was clearing out the old stock. I still see deals for the i7-11th gen for between $1050-$1100 normally combo'd with a mouse appear on here. You might want to search through old intel nuc m15 posts and see if any are back on special (people don't always repost when deals start again).

      • For general web browsing and office use it’s silent 99% of the time.

  • Wondering how far the hinge opens on these? I need to put it on a stand on a narrow desk taking up as little space as possible.

    • Opens flat. And the hinges are a tad too loose.

  • Will this a downgrade from my 1050ti gpu laptop? (And i5 9th gen which i know less than this)

    • +1

Yup, no gfx card in these whatsover apart from a pathetic igpu.

      • ok then will hodl on my laptop few more years

  • Glossy or matte screen?

    • Glossy

  • Can anyone confirm if the ram is dual channel or single channel?
