Yeah so I hear - is more the wife factor, just bought the beam gen 2 + 2 symfonisk as I wanted to "downsize" and needed 4k compatibility (had an older 5.1).
Not sure if i can spin the downsize factor when I am back to Soundbar + 2 surrounds + sub haha…
But is the cheapest price yet…. decision decision.

Any thoughts on Sonos vs Samsung q950a? I’m thinking of moving away and simplifying my lounge set up, currently have a denon amplifier and mission m3 5.1 set up but thinking of something more simple and neat.
@NachoCheese: when I did my research the Samsung was the better value for money, but I went with the Sonos anyway.
@NachoCheese: Sonos will cost more up front, however speakers can be used independently from the 5.1 setup and speakers can be updated bit by bit.
Whereas the Samsung system is a one and done situation, it all works together but the rears / sub can’t be repurposed / updated down the line.
Just do it. Everyone knows it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to get permission.
I have the sub gen 2 and it is a significant increase in sound quality, but it is still very expensive in my opinion.
Beam Gen 2 + Sub Mini + 2 Sonos One is a fantastic setup.

Just went into good guys Penrith to have a look at this deal. They had two beam gen 1 on clearance for $300. Ended up getting one (new in box). Still on there on the shelf (a bit dirty/dingy but would probably clean up alright) if anyone else is interested.

i got one for my existing beam gen 2+ 2 one SLs setup. Excellent for small/medium-sized room. You can see Peter pee videos on youtube as he has covered pretty much all questions you might have before buying sub mini

might look a bit smaller, but take decisions based on sound and budget. If budget is not an issue then go for arc + sub gen 3

It is down. I called the sales line and they sent me the direct purchasing link and is still not working.
Call the store back again and ask them to hold the item for you. I had the same issues 30 mins ago.
Heading into the store during lunch may be quicker for me.

I know this is entirely personal and individual, but I compared the Beam with the q990b (I know they're not the same market, but that's what Good Guys and JB had available respectively).
In an open space with little other noise, the Sonos felt small and lacking the bass that obviously comes with not having a subwoofer.
The q990b at JB, even when competing with more shop sound and the in-store music, really impressed me. Even with their less-than-ideal placement of the satellite speakers I was able to get a small sense of the surround capabilities.
Yet to hear the Sonos Arc, but the Good Guys employee claimed it's the best soundbar by itself, although won't necessarily compete with the q990b out of the box due to the sub and rear speakers
Q990B by far best value for money according to what ive heard in store and reading online.
