  • Banger. Thanks OP got one for xmas.

  • Damn. Just bought one from Dyson for my partner's bday after waiting a week to see if a deal would pop up. I wonder if Dyson will honour their "best price policy" for an order that's already been shipped?

    • +5

They might, but also they have 30 days money back if not satisfied.

  • +2

For me personally, the airflow is too narrow even without attachment, and the high pitched noise from the fan is not pleasant.
Ghd is much better albeit bulkier in my opinion

    • +4

This is actually why it's a winner for a lot of people with curls. Higher airflow leads to frizz, which is even more likely for people with curly or wavy hair - so the lower airflow is preferred.

High pitched noise is another issue… =D

    • +2

      Not for curly hair haha

  • +5

Upsized shopback cashback between 2-8pm today for another 6% saving

    • Imma be so sad if the airwrap sells out before 2pm. Fingers crossed!

      • +1

Stock seemed quite low so had to deliver. 4% cb isnt too bad.

        • Looks like the long barrel is already sold out

          • @drakdaystar: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

          • @drakdaystar: There's a long barrel accessory for the hair dryer?

            • @kaebomb: The long barrel is for the airwrap styler, not the Supersonic hairdryer to clarify. It’s also possible to buy them separately if you or the recipient decides to grow your hair out :)

  • +4

Was mad at me wife when she got this. Then I saw the kids used it, I actually like it. Kids can dry their own hair without the risk of getting sucked in the fan. Plus it sounds like a jet engine which is even better.

    • +1

Also my blower died, so I used this to clean up the garage from leaves etc.

      • +4

I use mine to pump my car tyres too.

Got one Remington from Target for 29$ and does the job admirably. This Dyson dryer though, seem be perfect for my lovable short-haired chi, or would this be overkill? Ahh, decisions….

    • Got a Remington from Amazon sale for $12 😊

  • Every time I see a Dyson hair dryer on sale, I immediately psych myself up to get one. Then I remember that apart from that one week when they were first released, I've never seen anyone at my hairdresser use them :|

    • +3

Probably the affordability comes in, I definitely notice a faster drying speed, may just be mental ..

      • +2

I have both a Dyson and a Parlux and they are both great. Drying time is about on par. Dyson is definitely quieter and much more premium feeling but I prefer the results with the Parlux

        • +1

Great! Thank you for this exact comparison. I have a Parlux and adore it, so will stick with it :)

  • Code is invalid?

  • +11

$479 is a bargain to dry your hair? World gone mad

    • +1

It's a graphics card for your CPU. Faster drying times

      • +1

*dry hair tessellation and rendering times thank you

    • bought on for gift. I won't spend 479 on my own hair dyer…

    • +1

Got the air wrap for my missus a while back. I'm not waiting an extra 10 mins nowadays. Wish it was cheaper though.

  • +2

Gift cards aren't working for me on the website, was planning to stack a small discount I get on buying them. Hopefully I'm not stuck with it :(

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up otherwise I would have been stuck with gift cards too

    • Glad I could help - called them up and the gift card is fine apparently, hopefully I can buy over the phone/in store. Not worth the extra 3% saving!

    • same here. Gift cards not working.

    • Same problem if you try to purchase over the phone according to the guy I spoke to, so looks like I'm going in to a store at lunch time

    • Assuming it's the same if I am trying to use an Ultimate GC?

    • What about just the good guys GC?

    • Can confirm that regular gift card worked in store for those following along. Thanks OP!

      • Yes, they are working in store. Just used one in the afternoon.

  • Website is absolutely CHUGGING right now. Must be a hit!

    • Struggling to even select a store to pick up from….

      • Yep me too, can't add my email

  • +1

Who spends half a grand on a hair dryer?

    • +2

      Someone who values their time?

  • The website's dead! 😆

  • May have to skip cash back and go into store since the website isnt working lol

    • Can’t even check for stock availability in stores lol

      • That's where I got stuck upon checking out but might take the risk going in cos my closest was showing availability this morning before I slept on it haha

  • +1

These are so good I use my wifes all the time.

    • Great on the gonads

  • Great deal.

I wouldn't say they work any better than any other premium hair dryer. It's a degree quieter though, and I find the temperature settings are a good comprimise. Makes it really good for dryer young childrens hair.

  • Also, for anyone who has access to (Smart Spending) Reward Gateway, you can get another 5% off with The Good Guys instant eGiftcard.

  • Ended up calling up to place the order over the phone. Was told to pay via the checkout link in an hour or so when everything is hopefully working

    • Did it work via gift card

  • +1

Got Refurb one for $310, i recommend it who are thinking to buy one.

  • +1

Was going to purchase one of these a few months back for wife, but then started reading the reviews which don't paint a pretty picture. After that warranty expires, should anything break on the dryer, you are pretty much stuffed. They don't seem to be easily repaired. Read the reviews on amazon and the like - the dryer is great whilst it works.

You can also contact Dyson directly on Facebook and should you have an existing device (vacuum or whatever), request a discount code on the dryer (20%).

    • They better have a good excuse to skirt statutory warranty like that. Especially for something that sells at that high of a price.

  • is the good guys' site down?
    I get:

    Error: Server Error
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.
Please try again in 30 seconds.

  • Awesome, thanks OP. Just picked one up in store.

  • Just got the black one - TY

  • The blue one comes with a storage box.
Got one in store, thanks OP.

  • Has there been any update since the first release?

  • Just bought, thanks! Wanted to share that using gift cards on the Good Guys are currently super broken - took me an hour to finally apply the gift card to the cart, and then had to use PayPal to stop it from clearing as the card details redirect kept defaulting to the full balance

  • Got one thanks

  • Got one - FYI, looks like there's only a couple of pickup options left now for Sydney stores (cannot comment on delivery etc.).

  • +1

    Parlux is better.

    • the consensus amongst hairdressers is that Parlux performs better than the Dyson. but I guess the Dyson is safer if you have younger kids as someone mentioned above.

  • How is this compare to a $20 revlon hairdryer?

  • The long airwraps went out of stock in matter of hours. Any tried to place order in store?

  • +1

Was definitely in stock in bunch of stores around me, going to checkout updated payment details now that part of TGG site is disabled??
TGG disabled the Dyson parts of the website after upsized cashback went active.

Sorry, we can’t seem to find the page you’re looking for.
You might find it on one of these useful pages.

    • That's dodgy on their part. I can concur there were stock this am and all of a sudden it's not even on the website.

    • Same! Dodgy 🙄

  • +1

CR increased to 10% and the item is no longer available.

    What a coincidence !

    TGG = The Greedy Guys

    • no longer available or conveniently that part of the website doesn't work anymore …
Was about to spend +- $500, guess they don't need my business.

    • it was already 6%, mind you limited stock with all deals you really risked it all for $20

      • It's not because no stock, but anyway.

  • I hope to back in stock before tonight.

    • Not likely, I called and apparently they oversold and already have 40 on backorder or at least that's the line they're going with.

      • No way! 😱

  • Every Dyson hair products are OOS even before CR 10% cashback this morning. I can not believe TGG…

  • FYI Dyson website has a deal with 3 attachments for free with the purchase of the unit, the free stuff is worth $197 so brings the unit down to $409

Stack with Cash Rewards 6.6% off for even better deal

  • Iron/fuchsia colour is back in stock but not able to order by online. Only available in-store.

In-store tmr or wait for Black Friday…🤔

    Edit : Gone again…🤬🤬🤬

    Back in stock

But CR 10% finished and now 3% on CR and SB…

I already use storecash promo(Confirmed by staff, 1 per month each promotion claimable and $500 or $800 spend promo separated with Click&Collect promo that under $499 spend.
I can get C&C promo if I don't add concierge service.

But I needs concierge serivce an I believe there will bee good offer on Black Friday. HODL!🥶

    • Conveniently back to the exact same stock levels as it was before the 10% cashback promo.
It must have really been a stockout, then in the past hours they restocked only the exact same stores ..
