    got one last time…
'refurb' is probably being generous as the front fan/cover was full of dust that took seconds to blow out.
If even that wasn't done with the minimal effort that takes, not sure what was done apart from just a fresh windows install.

    • Similar story here,

Mine was corroded/sticky on the chassis side & was rusty on the SATA HDD caddy handle. Luckily i got it thru ebay cheaper than the deal here & was sent a replacement unit with return post label for the original.

My problem was easily rectified, althought the replacement also had a sticky front grill, i have a suspicion they all had a sticker or con-note label placed there, which gets removed but not cleaned. Warm soapy water then a wipe with IPA did the trick.

Happy with mine, just took an extra week to sort it out..

      • What's IPA?

I did do a google and it came up with Institute of Public Accountants and India Pale ale which I don't think that is what you're referring to.

  • Hi OP,

Would you please advise if and when these monitors will be back in stock?

  • Refurb = reinstall windows + spray & wipe
Sounds better than used office computers though

    • Hi King,

Our spray and wipe is actually a 2 stage plastics solvent clean and conditioning which is done at the final stage of reco, it can sometimes be a 3 stage with harder solvents if there is some kind of permanent marker or stubborn marks (after product picking, testing, drive wiping, component check, any upgrades to spec and windows, office loading etc) , if its a laptop this is then a seperate cleaning agent for the screen (basically windex).

Blue tack is annoying as hell as well lol picking off bluetack from monitors etc. Imagine a stack of 100 monitors or PC's, all with baked on bluetack and stickers and sticky residue all over them, with more orders piling in - the struggle is real bringing those things back to sparkling, especially when we try to get it all out at such a slim price for everyone.

We generally treat the PC's similar to what a car detailer would the interior of a car regarding treatments. And yep, in the trade generally lots of stickers, tags, serials etc get stuck on so we have to remove all this before we treat the unit. Most units should come out the other end pretty damn shiny. We do employ real people, who can make real oversights and mistakes after long days with piles of orders though so sometimes some may get through under done but likely much better than we receive them. I know I personally always get the tootbrush out on those grills, and blow out the internals and grill aswell if needed. Sorry to those above who received some dusty grills yo, I've passed the feedback onto the team.

  • Hi to everyone who's here because they got a ping on their "3080" notifications

    need 8th gen

    • Here here!

    • This list does include 8th gen, and 9th and 10th gen too.

        no bargains for those but

  • What are peeps generally using these for beyond a desktop client? Tempted to pick one up to migrate from my RPi *arr Docker setup and have a play with OPNsense. May be overkill possibly.

    • They make a great NAS when coupled with a USB drive enclosure - quiet and unobtrusive 👍
