  • for the good folks who have ordered sims from Boost in the past, what are the average delivery times?

I have a friend visiting us from overseas on Sat 12/11 and was wondering if I take the punt and order this for them…

    • +1

      About 1 week

    • +3

Generally comes within 2-3 days for me, Liverpool area NSW.

      • My sin did not track the last time they had a promo. CB is annoying.

    • This week I ordered early morning Tuesday and it arrived Friday afternoon (Sydney).

    • Ordered since August and still haven't received it. Been following up with multiple emails and still don't see any action taken.

      • Hi! Please contact us at [email protected] so we can further help!

        • That's the same email I got from one of the brand rep that replied to my comment last time.

Been in touch witn Christine since a month ago who promised to followup but nothing happened. The last email I got was 2 days ago.

Thank you for getting back and I'm really sorry about this.

I will contact our escalation team right now to check back on your case. I'll see it through until this gets resolved for you.

          Thank you so much!

          Best,

Let's see how many more month to get a Sim card

          • @notewar: Hi! Sorry to hear that. Your concern has indeed been escalated and followed up. Have you been contacted by our team yet?

      • I’m the same. Waiting and waiting and contacted them and they have said I cannot even cancel the order and have to wait until it is shipped to reject the delivery for a refund. Never again.

      • damn. Looks like it can be a mixed bag. Might be risky for me personally…

    • Hi there! Once dispatched, you should receive your order within the following business days:

Metro Areas – 2-5 business days for capital cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart & Brisbane (order before 4pm).
Non Metro or Regional / remote areas – 3-7 business days

      • How do we go about obtaining tracking for an order?

        • +1

They don't send you an email you have to ask online chat

          • @neonlight: Hit and miss. I received all the dispatch emails with AU Post tracking link for 5+ orders in Sep and Oct.

The email title is "Your order has been dispatched", from [email protected] or [email protected]

One order with a new email did not receive it, but the mail arrived within the timeframe.

      • I think that ETA is completely not true it takes pretty much minimum 5 days.

That is if you are in metro

Why can't you guys make it available at supermarkets?? Just order and pickup

    • +2

      3 business days for melb

    • Around 2 days for it to arrive for me, 2127 area.

    • Very slow, they use snail mail Auspost…was courier Fasttrack, in year 2020 before they cheapened out. From order to delivered 9 days here Sydney metro

2 days to process 7 days to arrive is really a joke

  • +1

About 4 days Sydney North Metro, but only if I raise an inquiry with Auspost, once I enquire for the tracking code from Boost chat.
It comes from Strathfield the next day after the inquiry is raised.
If I let it run its course about 6 working days.
    I've learnt.

    • It seems that you'll get dispatch/tracking email only if you have a Boost ID. In other words, a real new customer doesn't get it.

I have received them consistently for the last few orders.

      • +3

I've never received tracking for orders on my existing Boost ID.

    • 2 days to process posting out + 7 days for me it's shockingly bad

Yeah their system. Is horrible not sending tracking ID via email

  • How does this actually work?

I see half price boost sims at woolies. Can i just buy 10 of them and use them as recharges each month?

    • You buy the SIM by clicking through Cashrewards and it'll take you to the Boost website. Buy the sim for $20 and Cashrewards will give $20.55 cashback, meaning you made your money back AND made a $0.55 profit!

Can i just buy 10 of them and use them as recharges each month?

No. As the terms in the OP state,

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

If not, it cancels that Cashback and you don't get anything.

    • if only we can…. the whole australia will be doing it already……

      • You can port out and back in. Just need to find a cheap sim to port out with.

    • +1

The discounted sims are for new numbers/porting in. They dont work for recharges as a rule. People that use them frequently sim-hop from network to network each month to get "new customer" deals each time.

I have been doing boost/kogan/amaysim on rotation for a while.

      • So you can just port out and port back in same day no delays and Boost will consider you as a customer? What happens when you the same email address??

        • +2

I have ported out & back in without problems, but never right away. I spend a week or 2 at least using the data up on the sim I ported out with.

I have heard stories if you port out & in right away you are usually fine but occasionally the system has issues because your old information hasn't been completely flushed from the system.

Boost does not appear to have a timer before you are considered a "new customer" again but some telcos do. Kogan for example has a 30 day cooldown before you can port back in.

          • @mitt:

Kogan for example has a 30 day cooldown before you can port back in.

30 day cooldown before you can apply a voucher for new customer.

  • Is it an issue if I buy multiple sims with the same email address? I know that each sim buy must be in separate transaction.

    • +2

It will eventually become an issue because their fraud systems seems to apply arbitrary (i.e. not transparent) fraud rules.

You kind of have to see how many you can order with the same details (address, email, credit card) until it fails - then change, and try again.

      • After I failed and then tried to change all kinds of details, it never worked again ever :)

    • Buying is one thing and activation is another. Being for new customers one needs to supply a form of ID. You can't use the same for each SIM so not long before you run out of them.

  • Clicking the link just redirects me to a tracking pixel? Happens in FF, Chrome, and Edge.

    • ..as in the OP link? That takes me to Boost Mobile Offers & Coupons

      • +1

"Shop offer". I end up at t.cfjump[.]com/t/313/73483/products/40-prepaid-sim?UniqueId=[redacted]

        • +1

Don't buy it until it is fixed.

        • +2

I can’t replicate this. Works fine for me on all browsers. I’m sure there’d be a heap of comments if this affected others. Can you please try via the Cashrewards mobile app on 4G/5G and see how you go. Are you sure you don’t have an Adblocker active, or even Pi-hole or a VPN?

          • @tightarse: I tested and link works fine.
@oMEDMspVU7NCZy44TJ: Are you sure your device is not being hijacked i.e. redirecting you elsewhere. Perhaps try a different device?

          • @tightarse: Happens on every device, must be pfSense then. Thanks.

            • @oMEDMspVU7NCZy44TJ: Try using mobile data which will confirm if pfSense is the cause as I assume that only manages LAN.

  • cheers, thanks OP :)
