Obviously membership required at Costco.
It's 2021 model. Picture taken at Costco Docklands warehouse Vic, unknown if same price in other stores.

Great TV and love mine!
Didnt they stop making these? Must have found a pallet of them hidden in the back of the warehouse…. Great TV. Loving mine.
Yeah, just be aware that when mine failed, they weren't able to exchange or repair it due to the lack of stock/parts. Had to get the refund and buy something newer.
You should have got them to replace it with the newer model up under your ACL rights
This. Sony is pretty shit re: warranty support when it comes to not wanting to repair or replace.
Agreed. But I got a pretty significant upgrade to the A80K with much better brightness for only a few hundred bucks, so it wasn't a big deal.
Considering it also meant a guaranteed new TV and warranty reset rather than them having the right to replace with a refurb. But yeah, I did consider fighting harder for new-for-old.
@Erwark: Hopefully you didn't buy Sony again after all the drama
My A80J arrived with a very minor bend that I noticed luckily. It took a few weeks of back and forth with Sony but they decided to replace it, however with a A80K instead as the A80J was sold out. No cost to me at all.
Great TV and definitely loving mine
Love ours!
wonder if they have 77 inches
Price wise this is good enough to pull the trigger if anyone is in the market for one.. this one sounds better than LG C1 but picture quality is slightly worse.
I had the 77” of the A80 bought direct from Sony. It had a major failure and doesn’t want to turn on anymore after 5 months of use.
Rang up Sony and went through a lengthy process and managed to get them to replace with the A80K 2022 version. The K series has some noticeable improvement in contrast & brightness which I find the A80J was lacking.
Sounds like QA/warranty is pretty piss poor with Sony
Definitely true
Great deal! Has anyone had any luck with a 28 Degrees Price Protection claim through Costco? Asking for a friend… 😁
Declined. This was their reply:
"Under Price Protection, there are certain circumstances set out in your policy that are ineligible for Price Protection. Your claim relates to part of a club membership deal which is one of the circumstances not covered." What ever that means? Will follow-up.
It means that because you have to be a member of Costco to get that price it is not available to everyone and thus excluded from price protection.
That seems to be the case.
Looked at the PDS and is mentioned Pg.2

@Mark M: Yeah I got the same response. I missed that in the PDS when I read it before submitting my claim.
Free delivery? Any 55inch?
Rather tempting if I end up able to get a refund on my current OLED.
I have a Panasonic OLED, also purchased from Costco, with really bad burn-in that is now too annoying to ignore. I'm hoping the ACL will assist to get it sorted.
@FatBoyNotSoSlim how long before the OLED developed bad burn-in?
Was it a particular TV logo that did it?
Did Costco refuse to honour the return?
It's complicated in that it had burn-in when I purchased as it was a display model. Initially just a 4k UHD logo in each corner, but now I'm seeing other artifacts being retained.
I've not had the time to contact Costco about it. Contemplating how I word my request for a replacement/refund. 🤔
Just bring it back to Costco. They are great when it comes to returns.
How many years have you had it and how long you have been a Costco member will come into play.
@[Deactivated]: Just bringing it to them might be the answer. I've had the TV for 4 years, member for closer to 6. Never had an issue with anything/returned anything before to Costco.
@[Deactivated]: Quick follow up. Costco said returning would be no problem, given it was before the change in TOS and took my word for the conversation I had with the team back when buying it that I could return it if any issues (their words at the time).
@FatBoyNotSoSlim: what was Costco change of TOS ?
@[Deactivated]: After August 31st 2020, major electronics purchases have a 90-day return policy. Previously it was lifetime/no limit. https://www.costco.com.au/member-care/refunds-and-return/wha…
@FatBoyNotSoSlim: It states that the 90 days is for 'change of mind' NOT for faulty items.
I assume your issue was for a 'fault' of the TV not a 'change of mind' ??
Costco's Return Policy for Change of Mind*
*EXCEPTIONS
Certain Electronic goods (purchased on or after [August 31st 2020])
For electronic goods, Costco Wholesale’s return policy for change of mind only applies for 90 days from the date the member receives the following goods: televisions, projectors, major household appliances (including refrigerators, freezers, rangehoods, cooktops, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers), computers, touchscreen tablets, smart watches, cameras, aerial cameras (including drones) security cameras, camcorders, MP3 players, cellular phones and portable air conditioners.
This Sony 65" XR65A80J or the LG 65" C2 ?
For those tossing up between the A80J and the newer A80K, they are very similar. The A80J usually gets slightly better reviews due to slightly better brightness and better speakers:

Is this deal still going? My 10-year-old 64" Samsung plasma just died recently, $500 quote to fix it. Thought I might just get a new TV and this seems like a logical upgrade.
I thought these sold out everywhere!! Good find
