This is a great freebie. Never personally got into Warhammer or any of its lore prior, so some dialog was absolutely lost on me, but the game sure is fun with friends.

Chaos Wastes DLC is free as well.

    • Also….

A Trail of Treachery FREE DLC Releases November 8.
      https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/552500/view/34019337…

Says it's part one of two - so not sure if the second part will be free also?

Would be good if the OP could add both this and Chaos Wastes DLC to the main post if possible.

BTW - I'm not sure - but I get the feeling it's a good idea to literally install games that are free if added to your library in a set period - just to be sure they actually stay there permanently? What do you think?

      Cheers

I bought this game a couple of years ago to play with a girl during lockdown and she broke up with me after the refund period, but before we ever played it.

It’s not often a three-line OzB comment is this moving. If you ended up finding someone else to play the game with, please post a follow-up comment!

And its never as fun to just play with yourself.

This is true for the game too.

my sister's boyfriend gave her a Playstation so they could play together.

She doesn't like her ex-boyfriend. Or video games. She likes horses.

      I like using her Playstation.

        I had to share this…

Was on a bus a while back and there was a gaggle of girls (early 20's if that) giggling about guys….

One girl said in an unsure manner "my boyfriend wants to get a playstation… What do you think… should I let him?"

Without missing a beat; another girl jumped in with such urgency in her voice "Do NOT let him get a Playstation; you will never have sex again!"

        True story…. made me smile.

    • Happy to play together some time in Christmas <3

Vermintide 2 is a great game. Since the HumbleBundle a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I have gotten back into it. Cathartic rat person slaughter.

    • +2

Couldn't convince anyone to grab it on this, glad its free now

I forced my friend to buy this last week to play with me, I fear of whats to come…

Nothing a good brojob won't fix

I owned a Peugeot 206, drove it for a couple of years before an off-duty nurse asleep at the wheel slammed into the cark parked behind it at the side of the road and wrote three cars off. She was very apologetic.

The 206 was not great, and it was interesting reading and matching complaints in the Dog and Lemon (remember that?) takedown of the model:

    • pedals too close together.

    • timing belt - there was a high-pitched fan whine from the engine
when I bought it, wasn't too worried, dealer went on and on about the
timing belt and how if it failed it could wreck the engine (is this
206-specific or a common problem? Don't failure modes and how the belt
whips round the engine get designed in?), and since it was due to be
replaced at an upcoming service anyway I bought it. High-pitched hum
persisted, later diagnosed as worn power steering bearings to keep an
      eye on.

    • I had an inlet valve clog up in the middle of winter; had top of
      engine replaced to fix it.

    • radiator expensive to repair - that was listed in the 3car pileup aftermath.

    • my suspension was slowly delaminating on the left due to potholes.

    • CD player started giving problems.

    • central locking losing plot - often came to car thinking that's odd,
I thought I locked it. Apparently central locking just did that. Often.

    • on headlights, replaced the same bulb a couple of times…

Not a great secondhand car. The Peugeot dealer did great repeat service business.

Does the downloadable content simulate any of that? Do I want downloadable content to be reminded of all of that? Really?

Things that can break in Peugeot cars…. I had no idea some of these parts even existed

    • +4

A bad timing belt can and will destroy an interference engine as upon failure you'll get the pistons pounding the valves into mush and an engine full of broken bits of metal, normally replacement engine is the most economic way to rectify.
Speaking of French cars, not sure about Peugeot, but some Citroens power the water pump off the timing belt, which is a horrible (profanity) idea, if the $150 water pump seizes then once again you'll lunch the motor.
Staying away from (mostly decades-old) French engineering is a good way to preserve your sanity.

  • Vermintide 2 is the best game ever, 4 player coop rat smacking fun. They've just announced new free dlc coming - trail of treachery. Everyone expected fat shark to stop developing vermintide 2 because they are working on dark tide, but great to see the devs actively releasing new content.

    • Is Vermintide 2 stand-alone or should I play the first one to get a sense of the story?

      • Story does roll between games but the character development and banter within each game is probably more important than the story arc across the games. I'd just jump into V2 - there's an active player base and the game plays better (v1 is also great, but less active players and the combat mechanics are a bit more limited).

        • Righto thanks for that

        • Can I play it solo? It seems to want to force me to play with others.

    • Oooh, had no idea a new DLC was announced!

  • Vermintide 2 is great, it's Left 4 Dead but fantasy.

  • oh VERMIN-tide, now I get all the rat references!

edit: but damn too slow to grab the freebie
