Seems like quite a cheap price for 16GB of DDR5 ram in a single DIMM. Haven't looked at any reviews but I assume it'd be low tier ram, though might be a good entry level for some.

How much warranty does crucial and pny offers? I thought a lifetime warranty was pretty common on DDR4 memories.
I mean in regards to other cheaper and budget option, they may be some options of a limited warranty which indicates they expect the ram at some point to just stop working. Im not exactly clear but i may have seen some ram with just a couple years warranty on aliexpress or somewhere along those lines.
Im probably talking out of my *** right now so do take what i say with a lot of grains of salt haha.
Cheaper than ddr4 !
Time for people to stop complaining about ddr5 prices.
It's not that DDR5 is expensive anymore, now it's DDR5 motherboards that are expensive
Just FYI this one is on par with ddr4 2133 in terms of speed, good price nonetheless but it would be used as a placeholder if you are doing a ddr5 build till cheaper high performance ones
Uhhh no its not.
Have you looked at the latency? These DDR5 sticks have more bandwidth but shithouse latency, most ddr4 smashes it in that regard. The single-value measures of "performance" can be swayed by tests that bias for or against bandwidth vs latency.
Yep even cl40 ddr5 is on par at a minimum with good ddr4 3200 and in some cases faster
Ddr2133? Please.
@Lonewolf1983: ddr4 3200 16CL = 10ns
ddr4 2133 15 CL = ~14ns
ddr5 4800 40 CL = ~16.7nsWhat do you have to back up your claim?
@ssfps: pretty much every benchmark out there.
But since you asked
https://www.tomshardware.com/features/ddr5-vs-ddr4-is-it-tim…."In our overall performance measurement, DDR5-4800 C40 was 19% and 14% faster than DDR4-2133 C15 and DDR4-3200 C22, respectively. However, the performance delta decreased when we compared it to performance DDR4. DDR5-4800 C40 was only 9% faster than DDR4-3200 C15."
@Lonewolf1983: It's evident you haven't read my posts and are just responding to a point in your head.
I saidHave you looked at the latency? These DDR5 sticks have more bandwidth but shithouse latency
All the posted benchmarks do is show averages. A heavy parallel workload probably doesnt care about the increased latency, but there will be some applications on some CPUs that do.
I also question whether you have even read the benchmark you posted, because in that very page tomshardware says
While bandwidth has improved tremendously with DDR5, latency has gotten worse. That's within expectations because DDR5 has looser timings. Even run-of-the-mill DDR4-2133 C15 was 5% faster than DDR5-4800 C40. The margin jumped to 17% with DDR4-3200 C22.
Which is exactly what I've been saying, so thanks for providing an article that demonstrate my point, I guess.
Also from the article you posted, is this quote, which backs up what i've said:
Predictably, not every type of workload will benefit from DDR5's higher bandwidth. Take your everyday tasks with Microsoft Office, for instance. The delta between the best (DDR5-6000 C36) and the worst (DDR4-2133 C15) was only 4%.
@ssfps: Its faster, latency and bandwidth doesnt matter, the end result does.
Best of luck to you with your DDR2133 on a 12/13th gen intel build, LOL.
not sure why you're being downvoted but people said 2400mhz ddr4 is more than enough back when they were released, there's way too many "i know better than you" techies in this day in age spreading so much misinformation it's actually hilarious.
im giving ddr5 4800 about 2 years before it becomes garbage tier performance
He is correct as being able to upgrade ram later, but the comment about equivalent ddr4 performance is laughable
Uh ok? Comparing things when they release vs many years later is a very stupid way of trying to see if they perform as good as today's tech. Unless technology (and humans) start evolving backwards then yes, it might be possible that a 7 year piece of technology beats one of todays standard and more advanced technology.

Thank you Captain Hindsight, that's how tech works.
Now go along and play with your future proof Raptor Lake, thanks.

I'm getting a 404.
I'm guessing it should have been $169, they've already taken it down.
No pricing error, i brought a pair in mid september for the same price
Don't quote me on this but ADATA seem to have a positive reputation.
It seems they also have lifetime warranty on memory for DRAM, not sure about this DIMM though.
Adata Warranty
It seems its regarded as one of the good options for budget builds alongside Crucial and Pny
