Integrity Aftermarket Warranty Worth It?

I'm looking at buying a car and was wondering if anyone has recent reviews for integrity warranty?

The car is a 2014 VW Golf with 110,000kms. My main concern is transmission. It's my understanding that reasonable wear and tear isn't covered. So let's say the transmission dies on me at 150,000kms would they pay to fix it? What is reasonable for a transmission.

I know everyone says keep away from all aftermarket warranty companies but for the sake of $700ish dollars/ 3 years, I'd like to know if I'm wasting my time? If it was a few thousand I'd absolutely not get it.

Thanks.

You should have an entire warranty inclusions and exclusions document as part of the quote. Review that and see what's what.

Also most of these warranties have an "up to" value limit which may not cover entire repairs leaving you to pay the rest. Especially if it's a "no excess" option.

Just don't buy a dry clutch DSG. This is coming from a multiple vw owner. If the vehicle you are buying is wet clutch, there isn't much to worry about.

    • Do you know if the mk 6 golf has a dry or wet clutch?

Depends how excited you make it.

      • Completely depends what engine it's connected to. Low torque things get dry clutch (77tdi, 90tsi, 118tsi). High torque versions get the wet clutch.

  • As above, do not get a that vintage VW with the DQ200 dry clutch DSG.

I'm not familiar with the integrity warranty but I'll be going through it with a fine tooth comb.

In QLD if you buy a used car from a licensed dealer, you get a statutory warranty. Your vehicle would fall under the class "A" warranty, and you would be covered for 3 months or 5000km whichever comes first. General rule of thumb extended warranties isn't worth the paper they are printed on as it only covers only certain parts of the vehicle and have a "up to" value limit and normally you have to service it at the garage otherwise the warranty is void. The devil is in the fine print.

  • Most aftermarket warranties pay for the first $500/$1000/$2000 of a repair for certain items, not the full amount.

  • Use google to check out review sites for what people think of the integrity warranty.

    • just going by their google reviews its not too bad

      4/5 stars

but usually i would expect aftermarket warranties to be smart enough to not cover bloody twin charged 1.8 tsi dual clutch vw shitters…

Because google reviews are 100% legit and completely representative of the community while not being manipulated by the company?

    1. If you are worried about the transmission it’s time to think about another type of vehicle.
    2. What does the fine print on the warranty say? Hint: it’s more of an insurance policy and will have some pretty strict conditions about servicing. Quite often there is a limit per claim ($3k?), they may require every
Single service to be at an approved agent which could be difficult to access. They may require only their tow company, or have limited tow coverage if your transmission decides to bug out while you are away on holidays.
  • I would be very careful purchasing this product and be aware that they will reject your claim if you don't service your car every 6 months as opposed to the standard servicing your mechanic allocates. I drive approx 10,000 kms per year and less over covid lockdowns and they refused to cover an engine replacement siting breach of maintenance. Unfortunately, I did not keep the 6 months in mind as I followed the sticker my mechanic puts on my car. I have always had log book services on time except during lockdown and they refused to cover it.

  • DON'T BUY Integrity Warranty, make sure you read their exclusion with tiny words first. I paid $4000 without any warranty, all my claims are excluded. TERRIBLE!!!

  • They give out glossy brochure showing everything included. I purchased Integrity wty. It sounded good - and first claim they hide behind fair wear and tare. Front end and drive shaft after 65-90,000 ks.
Escalated to financial ombudsman but could take 6 mths. Meantime Integrity won't let me cancel the warranty!!
