for a few seconds I thought: "what an expensive whistle"

    • +2

      The finest whistle ever made

    • +1

Ha! Ha!, funny you said that, it was my first impression too, a bizzare whistle.

Good deal for umpires & referees

    • +12

      Only if they suck, JV.

      • +6

        Don't they all.

  • Is there a benefit of this over Dyson (if you already have one) for the use case you mentioned (car etc) ?

    • My only thought was if it is something more disgusting/less disgusting than what you want to use your Dyson for.

      • +20

        … go on ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

        • Youtube "wkuk rip your off"

  • Shows listed on amazon for 59 and at Bunnings for 50.

    • +4

      Bunnings for 50.

      Which store?

      Showing $59 for me.

      • Caroline Springs (VIC) was set as my preferred store. Shows low in stock there though

  • Price shows $45 at Bunnings in Hobart at 9:48am (low stock)

  • +2

Just ordered from Bunnings at $45

Worst purchase ever I had made, can pick up some hairs no problem but things heavier than breadcrumbs better use a broom or a real vacuum. Please shop with caution.

We’ve got the slightly older purple one which isn’t swivel but is a Dustbuster with Li-Ion battery. It’s great. We’ve had it for probably close to 10 years and’s use it all the time. It has a strong suction - probably beats our Dreame. I’m surprised yours isn’t sucking up larger things, ours certainly does. Battery is good too. The only thing I don’t like is the noise, it’s loud. It’s got a superior design to the Dreame in terms of emptying the collector which gets clogged all the time on the Dreame. With the DB, you don’t need to grab bits of hair and fluff with your fingers to empty it like the Dreame, because the whole filter comes out with the cover, then you just tap it in your bin.

    • Mine picks up screws quite fine. Maybe yours isn't fully charged?

      • definitely fully charged, it lasts for long, just not really picking up much.

    • +1

mine works pretty well. although the filter does fill up somewhat quickly, which i guess is to be expected at that size. once cleaned, its nice and powerful.

  • shows $11 +$10 delivery

    • Where did you find that?

    • Edit: seems fixed now

  • +5

bought about two months ago, sucks ok but very loud.

    • +1

      <Insert Obligatory "Just like my wife/partner" joke>

      • How loud the sucking noise can be?

  • The battery is not replaceable according to a review on Amazon.

    • And their batteries don't last well. Had one. Regret. Never again

  • I have owned one of these for years and have been very impressed with it. Battery holds charge for quite a while. Dust tank could be a little larger but I can't expect too much out of a small handheld unit.

  • +1

$45 At Bunnings yes please and don’t forget to scan your Flybuys for points 😊😊

  • These have reasonable suction when empty but fill up really quickly. Worth it at this price though.

  • Thanks. Got one.
Thankfully I hung on to the floor extension kit I got with my 12V version.

  • +1

Is it strong enough for animal hair pickup in car?

    • +3

Hard to say because I guess the hair is stuck in the carpet in your car? That’s hard to get out without really strong suction. Our Dustbuster sucks up hair really well inside but that’s with timber floors.

  • Just ordered the last one at my local Bunnings for $35. Thanks OP

    • how did you get such low price??

      • +1

That was the price that came up for my local Bunnings. The others stores further away showed $59…

  • +1

    Amazon oos

    • back in stock

  • Thanks all I bought another thing…hoping it lasts better than our Xiaomi which sucked hard for a while and now just sucks hard.

  • +1

Looks like different prices at different stores, just bought one for $45.01.

  • Is this good for a workshop? Sucking up sawdust?

    • +1

I use mine for that but it fills up really quickly. I'd get something with more capacity unless it's just for really small jobs.

  • It's out of stock on Amazon. Amazon's deal is better due to better return policy and the price is almost the same after $10 delivery from Bunnings.

    • Just checked it's still on Amazon.

      • Was out of stock but it's back now. I already ordered from Bunnings.. Noooo

  • These are great but I don't think there's a way to replace the battery easily. I'm on my third one already.

    • How long does each unit last?

      • Generally from my experience brand new the battery on full charge should last around 10-15 minutes from memory but after 1 year starts going down to around 5-10

        • -2

It is a lithium battery so only charge to 80% only to prolong the battery life. Buy 1 more unit and charge both to 80% if you need more time

          • @shalala: It has a light that flashes when charging then goes solid when fully charged, how do you judge 80% from that. Outside of phones/laptops how many devices tell you battery % lol.

  • Bunning on NSW 2073 strange enough got the cheapest around northern suburb
    showing $45 (C&C). Others are $59

  • Thanks. I owned one of these previously, think it cost 3x this price. Ordered from Amazon just now for free same day delivery.

  • Not worth even $5. Suction is awful and it sounds like it's struggling even when empty.

  • Is this any good for vacuuming the car? I have rubber mats instead of carpet mats.

  • +3

Dam check the deals for 1 of my store and got myself 1 for $22

  • Such a good unit this one

  • +1

I had a previous version of this one and it was awful. But I do need a good dustbuster so I'm upvoting for encouragement.

  • Its $87 in all Bunnings stores in Brisbane.

  • +2

Thanks OP. I’ve got one from Bunnings Cairns Smithfield for $30!

  • +1

I had one of this and it was crap… Such a shitty product

  • this or the 18v ryobi version?

  • The store I went to also had this model for $69
    https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ajXQa5fCL.AC_SL1500.jpg

  • I got the bigger one based on reviews - everybody was raving. It was a piece of crap with no suction power and ended up giving it away, then got a Dyson v15 and stopped wasting my time with junk.

  • Where do you buy spare filters for this?

  • +3

I like how the most recent criticism of this $59 small handheld vacuum says its crap vs a $1299 stick vacuum… like no shit sherlock, if they were all created equal how do you suck someone into paying a grand for a vacuum?

I've used the Flexi dustbuster for about 2 years now and it performs well enough for vacuuming in cars that I bought the pivot variant for $59 as a spare. It has enough suction to vacuum fabric seats & floor mats to get loose debris off before you have a second pass on it with an upholstery wetvac like the Bissel machines which is what gets the real dirt out.

If you need to vacuum a large area, you're better off with a normal stick vacuum with a flexible crevice tool to reach into tight spaces when needed. My biggest complaints about the dustbuster would be the short 10minute battery life and how loud they get.

    • i like expensive sex toys as much as the next guy but $1,299???

  • Just bought the 18V from Amazon. I have already bought a Ryobi Vaccuum skin for $69 from Bunnings and have been looking around for cheap batteries and a charger, but this will do the trick instead (I hope).

    • +1

Pleaes report back if it is useful for cleaning the car or as others said, a piece of "cr@p" !

  • Is there a good recommendation of hand held vacuum for cleaning carpet or floor? I notice that most of them only last about 10 to 15 minutes maximum. Thanks

    • +1

The Dysons work pretty well. Ive got a Dyson V11 and it lasts more than 30 mins on the standard setting.

  • Bought the slighter larger variant with the flexible hose last night from Bunnings for 69$

Comes with a wide mouth attachment and a narrow crevice tool.

Works pretty decently. It's loud, but not that loud. For tidying up the car which I bought it for, it's perfect.

I find for vacuuming cars, it's better to use the narrow tool even when vacuuming the carpet to get more suction.

Compared to my Festool plug in vacuum, yeah it's no comparison, but for what it is it's a good little unit.

The flexible hose makes it way more useful in the car than using a dyson type stick vac.

    • Yeah I probably would have gone that one if I didn't already have a the floor accessory kit for the Pivot model. Was almost tempted to get both.

  • +1

Bought one last week, full charge lasted about 5 mins, maybe less. Got another one being sent to replace it since 5 mins is very poor battery life.

  • do you need this when you have a dyson V8?

    • I have a V10.
This is very useful for small jobs
