  • Question, will this will help wash the oil/grease stains off work clothes gained from gear assemblies?

or does it need something tougher/industrial?

    • +1

First I wet and then finger rub dishwasher liquid onto oil stains. Works for car oil and cooking oils. Removed used car oil from clothes this way many times. If it's all over I'd put it in the laundry sink with dishwashing liquid and soap her up. Just rinse it well as you don't want to congest your machine.

      • Sounds like a great idea, been having the perfectly shaped mark of gear teeth on my trousers for too long that endures wash after wash. Perhaps this will be the day.

        • Don't be shy on the detergent and just spot wet before hand. Let her sit as well for a few hours

          • @SoTightEcoLPI: Sitting for a few hours will defs get it loose enough for a wash, if its not already lifting by then.

I use dishwashing liquid as well sometimes - decanted into an old deodorant rollerball bottle for easier application.

    • I haven't tried with Vanish however Dynamo Professional Oxi Plus works well on those type of stains.

For me aldi stuff works just as well, not sure about the price though 1.75L seems like a lot / a good deal.

    • +2

Yep all the cleaning stuff is usually chemically the same, Aldi/homebrand is identical for much cheaper, and often made in Australia. This Napisan is made in Poland, most the other stuff is Thailand/China, paying more for a namebrand and lower wages but not lower costs.

Not sure what the difference between this and the spray is but the spray is down to $4 ($3.60 S&S)

      450ml vs 1.75 l ?

  • I find the gel is more effective to remove spot stains than the powder variant. I use both, powder for prewash

  • Thanks OP and to others for oil-removing tips

  • Really wanna know how to clean up the cap and the bottle after each use

  • What's a diaper?

1/2 price at WW if you are still looking

    • Picking up from the local supermarket fast becoming the better option. Amazon's delivery ETAs to WA are getting ridiculous if it isn't in stock in the WA warehouse.. 29th of November…

      • 23rd of Nov for my early order.

        • Yeh it did say that yesterday, changed to 29th today. But still, 3 weeks.. I'm getting stuff from China quicker than that.
Checked delivery to Sydney and was a more reasonable 4th so think it's luck of the draw who they send with, might get earlier but they are using worst case to cover themselves.

Was unfortunate to have some pantry items sent via Aramex over 2 weeks ago, still waiting… so much for Prime expedited.

Useful for the yellow stains that inevitable appear on white/light blue coloured shirts, especially at the top of the collar.
