what do you use it for?

      • when i was doing some filming + editing projects, it was great for filming on my phone (as i dont have a camera).

Z flip3 (which i have) and most of the other new samsung phones have a super-steady mode, that mode + this gimbal gives the feeling that the phone is flying, absolutely 0 wobbles 😂

I mostly use mine to take instagram reels of my dog. I absolutely don’t NEED it, but it’s fun to have.

  • +1

Only downsides for these are the DJI software is rubbish and any of the gesture controls/motion tracking features require you to use the DJI app which does not capture stereo audio.

    • What other options are there besides DJI and what do they cost?

  • How much actually are/were these new?

  • Can it be used with gorpo?

  • +4

Tempted but I absolutely do not need this

    • Same here :D

Need? What is this need. This ozb. The justification comes after the purchase. Not before.

    • Save your money if you don't need this. Spend your $69 on other things like cheap Netflix and YouTube subscriptions posted here on OzBargain instead.

I bought one of these new about 18 months ago and have never used it. Save your money

      • Would you sell it to me for $69? Considering depreciation :)

      • Did you buy at $69 or more?

  • Thanks OP. They go for $90 and up on marketplace, so if it's not for me it shouldn't be too hard get most of my money back.

  • Cant seem to get a smooth slow panning shot with mine (using just joystick). its either really fast or slow and jerky.

    • +1

The simpler method is to keep your feet planted and turn with your torso keeping the gimbal in pan-follow mode. Avoid using the joystick unless you don't have an option. Smooth movements with the joystick are certainly possible but take lots of practice.

    • +1

In the dji app you can change the joystick speed

latest version is V6, much better, but do we really need it anymore?

I think iPhone itself is strong enough.

  • +5

    Did I need it? NO
    Did I buy it? YES…..

  • Thanks OP, hopefully I can justify purchasing this to the wife as a good quality selfie stick

was tempting to buy, but folks, please check compatibility first

    https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Osmo_Mobile_3/Osmo_Mobile_3_…

    • Ooh thanks for sharing. Such a shame it’s not compatible with an iPhone 13 pro…

      • for the devices on the list, you may need to google it.

Those mobile not shown on list, some may work, some may not. Anyway, just google

Thanks OP. Not sure if I needed one. But got one just in case :)

fxxk, i don't need it but i bought one!! and registered a new email for the free shipping. what am i doing

    • +2

      what am i doing

Showing what a true ozbargainer you are.

  • How big are these? Im heading to Europe for a month in May 2023.

I don't wanna carry stuff around, but I'll be doing the dolomites/wineries in Italy.

Can you only use it with a phone? Pixel 7 Pro?

    • Only the pixel 3 XL is compatible, apparently.

    • They fold so pretty small. Works with any android phone but beware that you will get better quality with the iPhones DJI app just because of how camera APIs work in android. Using native android camera app is an option but you don't get tracking features and whatnot

For those on the fence, note that it's not compatible with the latest devices (Galaxy s20, 21, 22, iPhone 12, 13, 14, etc)

    • It actually is compatible, I have one and have used on 12, 13 pro, s21 and a z flip3

  • Impulsively bought this without thinking about compatibility with the Pixel 7 Pro. Just had a look at the specs for this model on https://www.dji.com/au/osmo-mobile-3/specs

    Compatible Phones
    Weight: 200 +/-30 g;
    Thickness: ≤ 9.5 mm;
    Width: 62-88 mm

The Pixel 7 Pro is 212g, 8.9mm thick and 76.7mm wide. Hoping that it would work when it comes in, or else I'll have to return it.

  • Can i use this on the new Sony xperia phone?

  • Can I use it with my Motorola DynaTAC
