The Ticwatch Pro S uses a Snapdragon 2100 (an SOC that came out in 2016) and has the hallmark dual layer display by Mobvoi that lets the watch display time on a LCD screen that doesn't draw much power, while the smartwatch face is displayed on an AMOLED panel. Switch between Smart Mode and Essential mode to save on battery life — reviews say you can expect roughly 3-5 days on Smart mode and 30 days on Essential mode.

It's pretty chonky and clunky like many generic Wear OS smartwatches, but it is cheap and you can do all your general smartwatch things on it — like Google Wallet, track your sports with onboard GPS tracking and sync data with built in Wi-Fi. It has 4GB of internal storage presumably for listening to music with.

As for the earbuds, it seems pretty average and it features an 8.5 hour playtime, IPX5 rating, smart assistant access, and USB-C Charging case. Downside: SBC and AAC only, no aptX and no in-app EQ adjustment. The earbuds seem to sell for $59, and it'll pair with your watch for music playback if you store your MP3 files on the watch itself.

  • What makes this deal even better than the previous deal is that it comes with pretty decent earphones compared to the one offered before.

  • +6

Only works in 95 percent humidity so it looks like us from Brisbane are out of luck

    • +1

Moving to Brisbane from down south is like getting a free steam room 8 months of the year, but it's in every room of your house and on at all times…

  • +1

Ticwatch pro 3 @$228 no earbuds.

Is it worth paying the extra?

    • It's a 2 generation newer processor that should make a difference to experience.

Personally I'd stay well clear of Wear OS though

    • The CPU and RAM will be night and day experience. Although I wouldn't buy the Pro 3 until Mobvoi keeps their promise and updates to WearOS3. Currently it's still stuck on WearOS2, and Assistant is completely broken with Australian English language

      • WearOS is good if not great and the Ticwatch Pro is a great watch. That's 2 out 3 which isn't bad that is, when OS3 comes out, then it'd be a perfect watch. A win for everyone who's thinking of coming on board.

        • Not when. If.

Mobvoi has mentioned WearOS3 multiple times and yet they still have nothing to show for it. Current OS is still Android 9, October 2021 security update

Buy things for what they are, not for what you hope them to be. If you're happy to have a completely broken assistant, poor ass speaker and old OS but otherwise a very decent smartwatch with one or the best battery lives on the market and dual displays, go for it.

    • I would say when the pro 3 is at 150-170 range it will be worth it. Pro 3 is slimmer and lighter and has bigger brighter screen, so it is much more enjoyable to wear. But at 2x the cost probably not worth it. I got my pro 3 second hand from eBay for less than $100 so if you keen just monitor eBay.

  • Anyone who owns one of these, do you know if Spotify Offline (premium feature) works on this? I was googling it the last deal that popped up and I couldn't figure out if the Spotify app they advertise on their website is just controls or you can actually download your playlists and use the earbuds to play back on when exercising so you don't need your phone nearby.

If I've overlooked this information anywhere, my apologies!

    • Not using Spotify so I can't personally confirm but a quick google shows this as 2nd result: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2021-08-11/enjoy-all-your-music…

      • Yeh that was one of the pages I stumbled across, just wanted to confirm as I can't seem to find anything on any of the pages regarding this particular watch (besides obviously the fact it's WearOS)

At this price I think I'll just buy now ask later

  • Thanks git one for my old man. Will be plenty good for him. Xmas present done

  • What’s a good watch under $300 for an older Samsung-phone user, who cares mostly about:
    - long battery life
    - counting steps
    - alarms
    - shouldn’t look plasticky

    • Huawei gt3

      • Do you have one?and a Samsung phone? Any weird incompatibility issues or things that need workarounds?

    • Any of the latest gen Samsung watches but I'm not sure about battery life, I have the old ish active2 it can get through 2 days but that's it 😂

      Mabye xiaomi too?

    • Amazfit GTR3? easy 14 to 30 days battery life.
      Leather straps option.

      Only downside is no NFC.
      Pairing it with Samsung S22U.

  • I love having to relying on customer reviews to see an actual real photo of the watch.

  • Gone! And right before I was able to spend my family's Christmas savings on a 14th watch I don't need. Bugger!
