Want to Leave Internode with Little Downtime

Hey all,

Trying to decide who to go with.

I've narrowed it down to superloop, Aussie and Launtel.

For the 25 speed I have superloop is cheapest, however, for tech noobs like myself it sounds like Aussie and Launtel have the better support?

Also sounds like Launtel offer practically instant changeovers with no downtime?

Thoughts?

Cheers

When I changed from Aussie to Superloop a few months back it went through within 10mins and downtime was maybe 5mins.

If you require support go with Aussie or Launtel. If not go with Superloop. Happy days!

    Launtel is practically instant

  • All three ISPs usually changeover in less than an hour. Do you have FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, FTTP, HFC, FW?

To get the connection working you'll need to do these things.

    1. Login to your router with your web browser or open your router mobile app to access the settings.
    2. Swap the WAN settings from PPPoE to IPoE.
    3. Check that the VLAN ID setting is disabled.
    • You expect a "tech noobs like" OP to be able to answer these questions?

      • He answered my question. He has FTTN.

  • Thanks everyone. It's FTTN. Do you have to tell your old ISP that you are leaving?

    My modem router is pretty basic. It's a TP-Link vn020 f2.

It does the job as I think my connection tops out around 30 anyway, but from memory there's just a bit of mucking around to do with passwords and settings, so I thought an Aussie call centre would probably be the least stressful way to go.

With Launtel, Superloop and Aussie, you don't need to mess with passwords and settings although you will need to get support to put your router into the correct mode (IPoE) to recieve a connection again.

I've had very good support experiences with both Launtel and Superloop, had issues with Aussie support but I know that's not everyone's situation.

Drop the old TP-Link and get a cheap second-hand Telstra gen 2 modem on ebay/gumtree. You'll get better performing wifi. Just plug-in and away you go.

    • Internode will get cancelled automatically on FTTN.

  • Sounds like you need to go with Aussie as you have to ask this and therefore need help.

Make sure you call their support number and check that your modem (assuming you have one) is going to work with them.
