Myer has other samsonite products on discount now. Not very attractive though (not even 50% off)
I just had my old backpack broken last weekend and was looking for a decent one.

Just saw the 3rd pic on the myer site and realised the one i got in 2019 has the same feature. The things you find out after carting it acoss Europe and the US
ummmm, maybe I should cancel my order and get the one in your link.
Could you please share your thoughts on the laptop compartment, and if it seems drop proof? I have a dell bag but honestly if I dropped by bag, my laptop would be done for. Although there is padding on the walls of the laptop compartment, underneath there is nothing but the base fabric of the bag between it and the ground if I dropped it.
There's a thin strip of foam in the bottom of the laptop sleeve which is velcrod in. If your goal is drop protection I would cut a piece of foam and chuck it in the bottom. When I carry fully loaded I'll have a 15.6" gaming laptop, Surface Go, Tab S8 ultra and a kindle in there and I've never been concerned about protection as carry on and I haven't had an issue since late 2019. As I said though, if you want extra piece of mind it would be a very easy mod- you could even just ball up an old tshirt or tea towel to act as a buffer.
Good ideas, thanks.
The KROSER bag from Amazon looks almost identical to the Samsonsite one. Bought the KROSER bag for my teenager for high school. The backpack is enormous and very durable.
My teenager had have both. KROSER didnt even last three terms. I bought the this samsonite through my work's staff deals. Going strong for over a year now.
The clips at the back breaks apart easily.
10% bonus on Myer gift cards at Woolworths at the moment as well.
I've been using this backpack daily for about a year now. I highly recommend it if you carry a lot of gear. I honestly sometimes laugh at how much volume I'm able to shove into it. The stitching and zippers appear to be holding up well. Only very minor fraying in random areas. I've owned multiple $300 OGIO backpacks that haven't held up this well.
My only criticisms is that it lacks "chest straps". So invest in some aftermarket ones and your good.
Looks like this one I bought for $70 in 2019 and it has travelled extensively and still in excellent condition: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07MK6J5NT/ref=ppx_yo_d…
