    Worth $39.99 - 50% OFF

If you're selling it for $19.99, it's not worth more than that…

    You weren't selling these for $39.99 before… ( http://tinyurl.com/7yehccv )

Claiming it's 50% off comes under deceptive and misleading advertising according to the ACCC.

I don't think I've ever seen a snark priced above $20 bucks to be honest.

Having said that, they're a great tuner - far more convenient than having a chromatic tuner on the pedal-board.

    • +1

Hey you must be thinking of the SN 8, they’re cheaper and not as good. These SN2’s are the big sellers.

  • +2

A word to the wise, rep: you might want to be careful about bandying list prices about on OzBargain, because they don't carry a lot of weight, here. I just did a quick search and turned up about a dozen retailers selling these same SN2 tuners for $19.95 or under. Free shipping might make the deal a winner, though.

But the harmonica I bought from your last deal is great!

All the prices you guys mention aren’t from Australia; you need to add shipping and you don’t get warranty. We lose out on every deal we do on OzBargain so we know our prices are good.

We will not be posting anymore deals on this site!!

      • "We will not be posting anymore deals on this site!!"

Well, that's your loss. Our gain is less adverts on the site.

Thanks for speaking on behalf of everybody liveyourlife.

I consider losing a rep of a music store willing to offer deals and assistance in comments as a 'loss'.

        • I consider losing a rep of a music store

A rep who is manipulating the RRP and artficially changing the amount saving is not worth dealing with…

I wouldn't be deterred so easily, but your choice. If you think you have the cheapest price in Australia (with free delivery as well), make it clear by posting a few price comparison sites, eg. http://www.myshopping.com.au/1S--Search?Find=snark%20sn%202

Use Amazon to your advantage - http://www.amazon.com/Snark-Instrument-Clip-On-Chromatic-Tun…. It's got good reviews of this product, but it also shows it's cheaper. Highlight you're no more expensive when you factor in shipping and you're also buying locally with local warranty and taxes.

They just bumped the price up to $22.99 and the link is here: http://www.upbeatmusiccentre.com.au/snark-sn2-all-instrument…

They are still offering free shipping.

  • LOL

And now the RRP went down from $39.99 to $29.95

How DODGY is that !!! :P

Amazon are selling it with a list price of $39.00. The issue is there is no reliable source of RRPs and they often drop wildly without all retailers being fully aware. Some retailers take advantage of this, some genuinely aren't trying to mislead you. Stating "Worth $39.99" doesn't seem dodgy to me if there are other reputable companies (e.g. Amazon) listing it for just as much, in USD no less.

Their last deal was dodgy too

This gets murkier. The product is not even listed on the site anymore…

    • +1

Link not working for me either. I almost bought their Korg clip-on tuner in store. I think it was $20 flat.

  • UpBeatMusic—>Current Sale—>No items lol

I went and bought guitar strings from these guys in person couple months back. Pretty good prices but I realized I could've saved a few bucks (maybe $2-3/set) by buying online but brick & mortar stores are good when you need something right away (during business hours..).

upbeatmusiccentre has already requested to have their account cancelled. A gain for the community? Not really, consider they did have a few good deals before:

    According to the rep, they

    • have attracted the wrong type of crowd from OzBargain (well, that's OzBargain and to be expected)
    • are not making money on these deals (depend on where they source the products, a general issue with Aussie retailers vs. overseas retailers)

Anyway. Hard to please bunch, aren't we? :) Don't think they are coming back.

    • +2

I will probably give them a call to encourage them to stay, although they need to either ignore or respond politely to people who make disparaging comments. I am still waiting for an acoustic guitar string deal they said would probably be offered. User "Nezuji" offered a helpful comment and UpBeat came back overly defensive. Maybe they are just offended they are not getting the sales they had hoped but I wanted this tuner and it was pulled before I even had a chance. UpBeat, you didn't act very responsibl or 'upbeat' in my eyes.

      • +3

It's a shame as a community, OzB is happier to trash a helpful aussie rep with a B&M store offering prices the same as overseas stores just to save a few dollars buying overseas with no support or warranties.

I think it's pretty easy to distinguish a genuine interest in wanting to offer a deal versus just blatant advertising with no deal. Agreed the rep didn't act accordingly, but look at the comments - 2 about the product, the rest against the rep by people who have no interest in buying the product to begin with.

        • +2

Totally agreed. Most of the people here are not even in the market for a tuner, yet they bitch and moan about the price.

Hey, if you want it real cheap, go 5 finger discount.

Just because another retailer is selling it cheaper, doesnt mean he has too.

Any retailer constant selling at ridiculous prices wont be round for very long.

          Is that what you want?

  • i just want a music Rep to stay, for the cheap deals.
i dont care what laws he may have broken, people brake the law everyday.
and i wanted this Tuner for $20,
    too late now :(
