Just a quicky :)

—- Mechpro Blue Variable Speed Polisher 150mm - MPBP150 —-

It's on clearance, so you have to check stock locally, here at the Gold Coast there seem to be a few still available.

It is a dual action polisher and has never been on sale that low ($105 on sale at sparesbox which is still way more and last time sale was $109 and it's $80ish if you would buy used at CashConverters)

Disclaimer, I don't have it yet (picking up today :) ) but the 40+ reviews are quite good, the negative ones mainly from "this kind of people" LOL And apparently some people using it every day and prefer it over $800 machines - who knows, but sounds quite ok doesn't it :)

Let me know what you think, hope this helps - cheers!!

  • Hmmm i need a dual action polisher… to buy or not

Yuck, I bought something similar from Supercheap, under their Rockwell brand. it was crap. The pad stuck to the car paint and the tool itself started to vibrate, eventhough I was holding it properly. You're better off with one of those random orbital sanders that Bunnings sells for woodworking.

    Now I use a Rupes LHR15 instead.

    • I've got both (well, I have the 125mm of the Mechpro) - the Rockwell is pretty average as you suggest. Ok for very occasional use or to do ad-hoc panels etc.

The Mechpro is much better - though still not at the level of Rupes etc. however it is good enough for a weekend warrior.

Rupes is for pro detailers, if your going to polish 100+ cars get rupes.

If you want a great machine for home enthusiast, I recommend this.
