    IKEA 2450 batteries are $15

You're not a real OzBargainer not knowing the Ladda/Eneloop factory lore

        • +10

Alright, this is something I wasn't aware. However, I just paid $14.94 through S&S that includes delivery, which makes it a better deal to my opinion. Knowing this fact, I might just pick up some when I visit IKEA next time.

Please note below comment is not based on nationality.

I choose Japan Ladda over China Eneloop.

Reason, originally the Eneloops were Sanyo products from Japan. Panasonic acquired Sanyo and started milking the Eneloop Brand then moved production to China factory. The original Japan factory is sold to Fujitsu FDK.

The Ladda that is from Japan is made by FDK. They are improved version of the original Eneloop. You can also buy Fujitsu LSD if you are rich.

            @skillet:

You can also buy Fujitsu LSD if you are rich.

LSD will make you feel rich.

      • These are only 2000 mAh so the IKEA being 2450 mAh I would think they would be better for high power need devices

        https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/ladda-rechargeable-battery-hr06…

        • Also more the Eneloop Pro are 2550, so definitely superior to Ladda albeit more expensive

          • @cook99: Yep the pro are 2550 but these aren't the pro at this price

            • @asa79: Yup, although the Pro are $17.09 currently.

I'd use more than $2.09 in petrol to drive to IKEA so clearly better for me

          • @cook99: Because they are Made in Japan by FDK original Eneloop factory and not like Enelops by Panasonic in China.

      • They performed way better than these eneloops in the tests.

        • Which tests?

          • +1

@asa79: Google youtube project farm AA rechargeble.

  • Bought $13.41 some months ago ;)

    $16 @GGC if you can do C&C

    • Used to be $14 when I bought from them a few months ago. :(
They seemed to have a lot of stock.

    • Thanks. Only $5 delivery and sometimes it arrives the next day from GG.

      • if you can do C&C

        • nope, would chew through $5 of fuel. Already shipped, ETA tomorrow :-0

We all miss it… I mean him

    • +5

I miss the variety of colors enloops used to come in

    • +1

I still have my Sanyo ones from these deals

  • Any good chargers for AAA that don't come with AA

  • +2

    With Charger $28.99 S&S $26.09

  • I have two questions:

    1. This will be my first foray into Eneloops, I assume that they are similar to lithium cells in the sense that higher capacity ones (2550) will be capable of higher current draw?

    2. I have never used S&S. Can this be used to get the cheaper price, then cancelled immediately?

    • Answer to second question is Yes. You can cancel s&s immediately. I usually wait until item get dispatched and than cancel it.

  • Would these be suitable for basic remote control cars or would the "Pro" version be better for that application?

  • +1

Just buy the Pros for a lil more. 25% more capcity and holds charge longer. Dont worry about lower charging cycles unless you are charging once every 2 or 3 days.

  • These or Ikea Ladda?

    • +1

I have the Laddas and they've been fine for me AA and AAAs. Works out to be cheaper for the mAh. But these would be more convenient to buy if you dont live near an ikea.

    • +1

they're pretty much the same as I understand it
however i bought this just because i can get them delivered
i don't feel like going to ikea just to get some batteries

      • +3

20 mins drive, 5 mins park, 20 mins product search and pickup, 10 mins billing queue, 5 mins back to car, 20 mins drive back home.
Oh, did I miss the 40 mins at the cafetaria lol ;)

Thats a lot of time and money on petrol.

      • Except Ladda are 2450mAh, and these are 2000mAh.

So, all else equal (delivery, price), the Ladda would be the way to go?

I might be making a trip to Ikea this weekend anyway, so I'm wondering if I should wait until then.

  • Do Eneloops come in C or D size? My smart door lock needs D size, and it looks like there's quite a few manufacturers making rechargeables in this size, but never seen Eneloops bigger than AA.

    • No but there are adapters that make AAA=C and AA=D

      • Wouldn't a AA only store 1/4 of the charge of a normal 10,000mAh D battery? I feel like this wouldn't be a good solution for high-drain usage.

        • -1

Wouldn't a AA only store 1/4 of the charge of a normal 10,000mAh D battery?

Not so much of a problem if you can recharge them…

  • +3

I have to ask the question… why do Amazon have a "subscribe and save" on rechargeable batteries?

    • at the rate we are buying rechargeable batteries, we might as well subscribe and save

  • -1

As above, why subscribe and save on reusable rechargeable batteries, are people being environmentally friendly by purchasing more electronic devices in order to pay less for rechargeable batteries in coming months? Makes no sense at all, unless you consider being environmentally woke is a circular economy for capitalism.
