  • Lol that RRP is ridiculous

    • We don't set the RRP. The RRP is $32.99 a bottle. BWS currently sell Chandon at $32 a bottle.

  • $25/bottle at First Choice & 20% ($25 max) CR
    6 pack is $143.50 - $25 = $117.50
If you add something over $6.50 you'll get free shipping.

In the next few weeks Liquorland will probably have a shopperdocket deal in these for ~$20 as they usually do around Melb Cup week.

IMHO Jansz is several levels above Chandon.

In fact Amazon has it on sale for $22/bt

    With 8% off $100+ spend making 6 bottles $121.44

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Chandon-Brut-NV/dp/B0942M8861/

    • Wow great spot there!

    • No need for eBay Plus either.

    • Further 2% off if you spend >$150

  • As above buy from first choice and grab the cash back.
Edit - Amazon is better :D

  • This is well short of the mark as a deal. If you want to get people on here to buy Chandon in bulk, you'd be looking at about $75 for 6. It's a good ordinary champagne but goodness me, it is nothing special.

Otherwise I'll very happily stick with my South Point Estate Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir, which won ‘double gold’ at the 2021 Melbourne International Wine Competition. I bought several for $4.99 (now $5.99 due to inflation) and it wiped the floor with others costing 6-7x as much - I'd have it on par with Jansz.

I'm all up for deals on good products but they have to really make their mark with me to get noticed.

    • Right you've got me curious but despite all the acclaim I'm not holding out much hope at $6!

      • I think it has a bit of a vintage taste to it, but for the price, it's superb. Have a go and report back! Here's a link to the award:

I'm heading there today so assuming they have some I will report back! Cheers

          • @drprox: Don't be shy mate - whilst Aldi's prices aren't the drop dead incredible they used to be, the wines and beers have held up pretty well.

I got through a 6-pack of the very tasty Storm Lager with a mate last night ($9.99) and IMO it's 90% as good as Hahn Super Dry ($18-20 for a 6-pack). I'd say that's the general ratio: 90% of the quality for about 50% of the price. I'd give that rating to the whiskey, vodka and Irish Creme.

They've currently got the legendary Oktoberfest beers in stock for about $4 (Hofbrau my pick), which is dirt cheap for Australian prices.

As for wines, the $5 Little Birdwood Cabernet Shiraz Merlot is the cosiest/easiest drinking you'll ever find at this price point, although many are pretty keen on the One Road, which is a few bucks more.

Honestly, can't go wrong. It's the best running alcohol shop in Australia by a mile - unless you really want to go for luxury, which isn't the point of Aldi anyway.

@StToffee: I quite like the Riesling they have for $8.99 from Watervale so grabbed a couple of those along with the recommended sparkling!
Also haven't minded the 8 yr whisky as a substitute for dimple which has copped inflation.

  • Sorry, but that's not a good deal.

    • +1

At $21.78 per bottle, it is less than the wholesale price. I wish we could do more.

      • buy 10 from amazon, the total will be $198, which is $19.8 each.
