As a JRPG fan, I've struggled to stay with this series throughout the duration of their run time. I always seemingly lose interest at ~ 10-15 hour mark.
This seems great value though so will check it out. Thanks OP.

What series from Tales have you tried? I'd say Zesteria is one of the slowest ones (although it was my first and it got me to try their other games). My personal favourite is Berseria.

I have tried a few over the years. Berseria, Arise, Vesperia and Symphonia (back on the Gamecube).

I hold Vesperia:DE in high regard and was actually thoroughly enjoying it until my XBOX One died so it really wasn't anything to do with the title itself.

Again, I think the issue falls with me, (Not huge on the battle system for one) and it's just one of those series I was unable to get into as much as I would like to. However, I can recognize that there is still a lot for people to enjoy and characters to savor if it hits the right notes for you.

I have to agree on the combat, it's a bit hard and stiff feeling at times. Zestiria combat feels more Vesperia than Berseria for me at least and it's very unique if not complicated. For $4, maybe give it a try though.

          • @hotori: I feel old now, the only Tales game I've played is Tales of Destiny on the PS1. Are any of the games similar to that?

  • Seems like an awful lot of gameplay for $3.99

  • Thanks mate! Just got it - a bit slow and story-driven but for $3.99 it's a bargain!
