$3000 Discount off Display Model TV? Worth It?

Hey guys,

I’m able to get the Samsung 8k QN800A QLED for around $1500 but the catch is it’s a display model. Just wondering if I should pull the trigger or if it isn’t worth it.

Here’s a link for more info:

I’ve been looking a for a TV recently and the specs on this seem pretty good. It comes with the full warranty and everything as well as all the accessories.

Thanks!

  • If it was place low near the ground kids could have touched it

If you have checked it and are happy with it and are happy with the warranty then it is worth it.

Comes with full waranty so nothing to lose.
      These are golden opportunities.
Blink and you miss out OP

      Probably gone already

So true about missing out… I always tell myself that big stores aren't in business by hoarding stock. It has to move, and probably in this case, already has.

Getting a $4.5k TV for $1.5k sounds like a pretty good deal.

Obviously you need to do all the normal checks, but that is far steeper discount than is often provided for display stock.

    • It also a discontinued model.

    full warranty

    Buy it!

How many hours are on the screen?

I bought my first LG OLED C7 as a store model. LG said the panel life expectancy was 100,000 hours and the panel had about 3,000 on it so I wasn’t concerned about longevity. Only burn in if it had the same picture all day everyday however I inspected and saw no issues. Saved $2000 off the RRP and couldn’t say no.

Had that TV until last month where I bought the S95B deal that was recently posted and never had a problem.

If it’s a good enough deal and you’ve inspected it I say go for it.

Your getting a 3000 discount … and your asking if you should do it? WTF?

      Sounds a little troll-y anyway

    • I've got some family members who just refuse to touch 2nd hand or used stuff, even if in pristine condition and with warranty. Even if free! Maybe not exactly the same, but I also once asked them what if there was an amazing marble table or a crystal chandelier etc left out for council cleanup and they were in perfect condition - they were like yea no we would not take any of that
      :/

  • I don't think it's actually that great a deal for an older qled but I guess it depends on whether you'll use the 8k at all. Don't forget delivery fees as well since moving a big tv properly is hard.

Yes. If you are in the market, then that is a crazy good deal. Though, it has to be said that the TV won't be for sale very long, I wouldn't be surprised that by the time you go back it will be gone.

  • I wouldn’t do it cos 65 inches is a bit small for an 8k quality screen…i’d go 70 or 75

    • Not wrong, but there's hardly any 8K content out there, but 4K content would still look good, I think it's worth getting at that price, even if it only ever gets used for 4K content.
