Let's get some Ozbargainers in Western Sydney to meetup and celebrate our annual tradition

Date: Saturday 26th November, 2022
Time: Meetup around 4:45pm, Dine-in 5:00pm
Location: Okami Japanese Restaurant
Address: 19 Lawson St, Penrith NSW, 2750
Cap: 20 30 people

Okami Japanese Restaurant is "All You Can Eat" (See AYCE menu here). AYCE time limit is 2.5 hours

Please vote on the poll accordingly and let me know if you will be attending. I will be capping this event to a max of 20 30 [Edit: updated my booking with Okami and increased cap to 30 people]

Let's make this happen guys. OzBargain will be covering the cost of all meals, and hopefully some new t-shirts, so come along for some free food and have fun!

Thanks to everyone who voted on the poll, we managed to obtain the numbers desired.
I've called up the restaurant a few days ago to confirm the booking. I've booked slightly over the 20 cap to allow for more room. I may be able to take on a few more Ozbargainers.
Added waiting list for above reason, and to replace any individuals who decide to drop out or can no longer attend the meet-up. If you are unable to make it, please let me know and I'll add other Ozbargainers who is on the waiting list

Since Okami charges a no-show fee, to confirm your registration to the Penrith meet-up, I will be taking a $5 fully refundable deposit via Beemit. Please write your OzBargain username in the “for what?” field when you make the transfer. This deposit is fully refundable in cash if you show up to the meetup. Please read below update

Okami has advised of a possible small price inflation coming soon, so I'd like to give a huge thank you to @scotty/OzBargain for giving the green light and making this meetup in Western Sydney possible.

Called Okami Penrith to increase my reservation to 30 registered OzBargainers (32 including children). This is now confirmed, and will be the last cap increase for the Penrith meetup.
Changes to waiting list (please see OP). I have moved some people from the waiting list to the confirmed attendance list to fill the remaining spots, and I will be reopening the poll to allow you to vote 'going' (and I will reach out to you via pm regarding the deposit). All other newbies who vote will not allowed to attend as we have reached capacity
Effective immediately I will no longer be accepting a $5 deposit (please see OP). If you don't read this update/post properly and still make a transfer, you will not be placed on the list and will not be able to attend!

      Or people who purely joined to try and scab some free food. The WA threads have some 'interesting' people who were quite insistent on going and claimed they were long-time members but their join date said otherwise

Hey all, I just wanted to make you aware of something about this venue. I was there about a month ago and they do not seem to handle larger groups well. The service we had was not great and they do weird things with the ordering. If your table for example orders, let's say, Chicken Karrage, they will provide a serving of 1 piece per person and followed that method. I'd recommend that each person ordering ask for food individually to ensure that you receive a suitable amount of food. I know when we finished dining there, our entire table (9 people) were all still hungry.

Okami has made three long tables for us near the windows (Each table will have around 11 people)

There will be no tshirts sadly and scotty won't be coming to this event

It was lots of fun and the food was delicious. Being locals, we would definitely go there again.

It would also be nice to meet other ozbargain members for a coffee and chat some other time instead of waiting a whole year to do so again.
