SanDisk 32GB CZ45 Ultra USB $34 at Dick Smith (can be price matched at Officeworks)

12

Hello OzBargainer's,

I spotted the 32GB SanDisk Ultra USB Flash Drive for $34 at Dick Smith, Parramatta. I then walked around the corner to Officeworks where it was priced at $69.

The Officeworks staff member looked up the Dick Smith price online, and found it was being sold even cheaper at the Lidcombe closing down DSE - $31.

They honoured the cheaper $31 price they found, minus the 5% discount, bringing the purchase price to $29.45.

Cheapest price on Static Ice is $33:

Receipt: http://i50.tinypic.com/5jyc82.png

This flash drive has a transfer speed of up to 15MB/s.

Looking forward to tax deducting it in a few weeks :)

Mod — Price Matching is not a bargain. Title has been updated to say the bargain is at DickSmith, but with possibility to match at Officeworks.

Very strange how some over pay for memory. Dickies might have to take a loss on these.

I doubt many would be interested in paying >$14/32GB after
Silicon Power 32GB Micro SDHC Card Class 4 - $15 at PLE Computers
& specially since this too is 'BYO pick-up'. use an SDHC/USB adapter.

    Definately No deal.

Very strange ppls don't compare speed but only size…
ppl who bought 120G hard disk for $150 must be insane

about the topic, I will go for USB3 for a little bit more money like Corsair's new one, believe me you don't need a usb3 port to double up the sandisk's speed.

Please stop with the price match bargains …. they are not bargains. There is no offer of $29.45. The offer is Dick Smith (@ $34 or $31). If someone wants to go to Officeworks and use that offer to price match, that is up to them but it isn't a bargain in itself. It also means that Officeworks strikes another blow towards killing off the opposition so that in future they may be able to set prices higher.

Agreed. I don't like when people include the GST removed price for travellers about to leave the country in 30 days either.

But he mentioned $34 as the price in the title. It's OK to mention price matches in the description.

      • Ah, but when I replied, the header was much different. It listed the deal as a $29.45 price match at Officeworks and then mentioned the Dick Smith prices in the text as a means to this end.

The title was change by a Mod …….. "Mod — Price Matching is not a bargain. Title has been updated to say the bargain is at DickSmith, but with possibility to match at Officeworks."

I see. In that case, disregard what I said. I agree that price matching should not be in the header.

FYI, this is the spec I copied from bhphotovideo.com:

    Capacity 32GB
Environment and Equipment Specs Windows XP, Vista, 7 / Mac OS X 10.5 and higher
Read Speed Up to 15 Mbps
Write Speed Up to 10 Mbps (first 20 MB of data transfer)

…for those playing at home, this is around a (10 - 6.17)=3.83 MB/s improvement for the easily conned. Just add increase to cost '100 %per cent' and your done.

    slow.

I rue missing out on the 64GB Verbatim USB stick from ozgameshop for $31. It's hard to see a $1 per GB stick a bargain after that one.

Also the lexar $20 (less for cash) for 32GB at Good Guys.

I think your mileage will definitely vary if buying from OW price match.

    • +2

      That AUD 31- absolutely a bargain for 64GB @ 12 MB/s "Write" performance.
      Go Verbatim !

  • Not a bargain. It is USB 2.0

I got a USB 3.0 Lexar 32GB for $28 at Harvy Norman a few weeks ago.

A few weeks ago is irrelevant for someone buying today. What's the best you can find it for today?

      • +1

Nevertheless its good info for someone who can afford to wait for the 3.0 deal to come around again..

        • You're right, it's good information. It was the fact that he negged this deal with that reasoning that was totally wrong.
