A decent price for popular globes that improve brightness and distance over standard OEM globes. Please check your car manual (or supercheap website) to find which globes go with your car. H4 globes have both high and low beams in a single globe and are generally for older cars, where as H7 is a single beam and are found mostly in newer cars.

Please make sure you install these bulbs correctly as any oil from skin contact on the glass area will shorten the life dramatically. These globes are pretty popular in modern cars (like the Hyundai i30/i40), which have crap standard headlights and I see these recommend in forums all the time.

  • Will they be better than LED for Hi-Beams?

      Xenon and LED will always be better, but you will need to have headlights that have a projector covering the globe, otherwise they are illegal (NSW, TAS anyways, likely all states).

      Note: Each state has their own laws (I'm sure projector rules are federal), but please check with your state's roads website regarding LEDs / Xenons. If you get caught (without projectors), it could be anything from a warning to having your car defected and towed. These globes in the listing are likely the brightest you can get for a non-projected headlight (legally)

      Edit: They may be some changes since I left the industry, it suggests making sure your car is fit and they are ADR-approved and again considering a conversion kit or projected headlights (as above)

      • Thanks. My low beams are Xenon, however, the high beams are reflectors, so was wondering.
        Guess it is safer to go with these instead of LEDs.

          High beams are only in when no cars oncoming so I'd go LEDs.

          In saying that I've been running Stedi LEDs in my cars for several years two projector and one reflector and been fine. I've checked the beam pattern against a wall and it's fine. Never been flashed by anyone.

          Difference is night and day. Wouldn't go back to halogen. Every time I drive a car with halogen at night it's like I've got no headlights on. Straining to see the road.

          • @placard: The problem is if an officer is in the distance (like running a speed trap), he would be able to easily tell its unprojected. From memory also the projector is required (or used for) focusing the bulb to stop it spreading. If you really want LEDs for highs and don't want to risk a tow, then get a light bar. Fo H7 there is some wire chopping, but for H4, it's an easy install. Just make sure you leave the switch (at least under the hood), so if you are pulled over, you can kill the bar easily and it would be unlikely you will be towed (as both high and low beam would be in spec). I'm live and drive almost always at night and rural areas (Mainly Armidale - Tasmania) and we all know most people have them, but they still aren't legal, but the cops generally aren't too harsh as they are likely doing the same thing with their personal cars.

            If you get a prick of a cop or end up being put into a mobile inspection station (they run them time to time), then it will be a headache.

            BTW the light bar I have put above is a great option for passenger cars without bull / nudge bars (still not legal). I have one on my i40 that works great, and I think I've had it 2 years now. I have spotties on my Navara, but I don't use them on road as I know they would blind anyone at night.

      Yes, because they're properly engineered to fit a H4 light enclosure including projector angles.

    Very low life span according to the reviews, 6-7 months. If you have a projector in your headlights, definitely get LEDs.

      The brighter they are the thinner the wire is. You do get more light in the mean time.

      • Like any halogen globe though, they dim over time.

    • i have philips 130 Xtreme something, i their life was 1.5 years, one globes low beam isn't working now. now i have ordered Narva 100 , gonna see how much life i get from them, by going down

      • Narva are okay (should last longer, but not as bright). OSRAM Night Breakers are another really highly recommended globe. These are pretty common in Europe, again being as bright as legally possible. You might want to try these if the Narva don't last as long as planned. Just make sure you don't touch the glass area of the globe as the skin oil creates a hotspot and will kill these high-powered globes very quick.

        Out of interest, how are you finding the Narva 100s for brightness?

    Excellent bulbs but definitely have a shorter life span. My last set lasted about 8-9 months.
    I put these in some of my work vehicles when we were working outside of Sydney and driving a lot at night and the difference vs standard cheapies is huge.

    I have very recently put a set of these in one of my work utes however I think next time I will seek out something more middle ground.

    Its somewhat anti-OzB philosophy but I must say, little QoL upgrades like these bulbs and installing Bosch Aerotwin wipers make such a difference when you're driving a shitbox around.

      Totally agree regarding the upgrades. My 20 year old Camry has H4 LED from Stedi, double din headunit, I then installed a $20 reverse camera from ebay, underseat subwoofer - just refreshes the whole car. I've always maintained it well and it looks great for it's age, and with these upgrades it's still a very pleasant place to be for a commute given it's got very good NVH levels too (better than a lot of new cars I've observed - perhaps more cost cutting these days in terms of insulation?)

    I just want to say, I've used these bulbs a couple of times…they do not last. I'd go as far to say they're of such low durability, it's unacceptable.

    Just use normal bulbs with blueish glass for a whiter colour.

      Unfortunately the blueish glass actually reduces the amount of emitted light - it filters out some of the red and green light, and leaves more of the blue.

      If you want the most light, then the clear glass is better 👍

      • Normal globe kelvin washes out in bad weather. There's more clarity with white light.

  • these are such a gimmick - the word racing in the product name for some bulbs…lol. compared to your cheapest unbranded bulb, then yes there are "better" but compared to something like philip's own xtremevision130, these are crap. i run my headlights day + night, and only got 3-3 months 3 weeks max. whereas xv130's would give me 9 months average with very similar brightness. i've tried the racing visions twice to make sure i didn't get a bad batch. thought i'd try the so-called "upgraded" gt200s and still the same poor longevity. osram's nightbreaker 200s are also good for performance/longevity.
