Thanks. I did it. Hopefully a code will come.

  • +6

I had to answer a number of questions - hopefully the correctness of those answers won't affect the eligibility.

    • +2

It's just whatever answer is the best one for Game Pass. The one im unsure of is how many games are on Game Pass where it has 100+ or "all your favourite games" as options. I mean i put 100+ cos that is factually correct but idk if it matters if you picked all your favourites? Obviously a subjective answer so i assume both are fine.

      • 100+ is heavily featured in marketing materials so guessing that's it

      • +1

My Favourites are on another platform.

    • Same.
"2. How many months of Game Pass come free with you Legion device? A) 0 month free B) 3 month free"

Big banner says it's 1 month, so go figure.
Direct copy paste of the question from the site too, spelling errors included.

      • +4

3 months is included with LEGION DEVICE.

        • Where do you get this? I purchased a laptop from them and haven't received a code for anything despite being eligible for three

  • +4

    Great find

  • Might make a new email and create a new persona for this offer.

    • +11

You can use aliases instead of creating new email accounts. So for example if my sign-up email is [email protected], I can use [email protected]. The site will see it as a unique address but all the emails will end up at [email protected].

This also works for gmail, however you can only use fullstops. Eg: [email protected] [email protected] , [email protected] etc etc

      • +6

Gmail also allows you to use "+" just like your outlook example.

        • Did not know! Thanks!

        • Did any of you who used this + method end up getting a code? I've just ticked over the 3 day mark and nothing yet.

  • +3

    Thanks Phalaxis!

  • my subscription ends Saturday. hope the family plan coming to Australia soon.

  • +1

After the last Lenovo debacle I'll pass. I hope they are more diligent than optus with all the data they gathered during that debacle…

    • +1

Are you referring to the free $100 lenovo credit when signing up? If that has taught you anything, it is to buy first question later.

      • +3

I think they leaked emails or something

      • They cancelled most of the orders tho, right?

        • +2

They removed the $100/$200 from accounts, but those who already purchased the orders were honoured.

    • Well here you go
Should be in bold in OP

      Edit: may be alright
      Still need clarification

      • +2

It says redemption codes on the page so would be very surprised if Lenovo took over billing.

  • +6

Does this stack with existing sub?

  • I get a message saying the promotion has ended when I visit the page

    • +1

I just signed up and lodged my claim - said registration successful or something along those lines.

      Shouldn't have expired.

      REDEMPTION PERIOD : 07/10/2022 - 20/10/2022

      • +1

Got it working. If anyone else has the same issue make sure the country is set to Australia. Somehow mine was not.

  • +8

Be careful. If this is Gamepass through Lenovo, it'll lock up your membership for a month after it expires and you won't be able to renew till then.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/686354

    • I think that would be something related to the fact they offer the "All Access subscription". I'm not sure if the same would apply with lenovo, but good to look for.

    • +3

Thanks for your thread. I'm going to stay away from this offer

      • +6

You're welcome. I'd love to save some people the utter ****show I went through.

    • Is there any way to tell in advance? I’ve gone through all the small print on the deal and it all points to MS with no direct mention of Lenovo.

      • My understanding from my conversations with Microsoft is that if you sign up through a 3rd party there is a cooling off period of 30 days before you can re-subscribe through anyone else including Microsoft. I had trouble getting a clear answer on this stuff so the best I can give you is my understanding and tell you that is how it played out for me when I signed up via Telstra, and that Telstra would not help either.

      • If it's a 3rd party billing, ie. you subscribe with your account/payment details on a non-microsoft site like with Telstra then you may run into the mentioned issues. Otherwise if it's just simply a promo code that you claim direct through Microsoft then there shouldn't be any issue

    • It depends if it does the billing through Lenovo like with Telstra, if Lenovo just gives you a code then it should be fine.
From the page and terms it seems like it's just a code claimed direct through Microsoft so I doubt the same issue would occur. I've claimed similar promo codes before from Discord Nitro without any issues.

      • I have claimed through Discord Nitro as well without issue in the past which is why this blindsided me when the offer through Telstra stuffed me up. I was genuinely surprised that Microsoft would not help.

  • +6

    Lenovo can suck my balls

    • +20

How do I activate that feature on my laptop?

      • +2

Open your privacy shutter and press insert

    • Why the desire to teabag Lenovo?

    • As mr garrison says, when eric cartman tells you thi, you must say, present them!

    • -1

Agreed, do they these promotion to steal your details, I guaranteed you they will cancel your request for the 1 month game pass, don't waste your time with Lenovo.

  • Is this only PC game pass? The pic mentions windows multiple times and having a compatible controller but doesn't actually mention a console…

    • It's Ultimate, which includes PC, console (Xbox), and cloud. You only need a controller if you want to use cloud gaming, which does not require a powerful PC nor a console.

  • Expired ? Seeing 419 error

    • Nope still active.

Did anyone get a code yet?

      • signed up last night, no code yet

        • The page says it may take up to three business days for the code to arrive.

  • Has anyone got their code yet? I'm looking forward to using this to play Scorn tomorrow and then Persona 5! Glad I don't need to buy a month of Gamepass anymore :D

    • +1

Damn I want to play Scorn as well but I only have Xbox one X and cloud gaming sucks due to poor internet.

Don't know why they made it available on series S but not Xbox One X because they are pretty much the same performance wise.

      • yea it's really weird that it's just on cloud for one x…
i'll be playing it on my pc. persona 5 as well.

      • There's a fairly big difference between the series s and one x. The one x has a more powerful gpu for sure but the CPU and storage in the series s are a significant improvement over the one x. This is why the series s has more high frame rate titles and much better loading times.

Not sure about scorn in particular but it could need either of those features to work well, more likely the CPU power.

        • Surely this becomes more negligible if you run an external ssd on the One X?

          • @snoopydoop: It's a big difference, you can't play series s/x games off external ssds on the console. The usb Bottlenecks them.

The cpu also is just much more powerful. The ones knt he Xbox one line were old when they were out in there, junoing up to the latest and Ryzen is a huge leap.

            • @Everettpsycho: Sure, there's the exclusivity to Series S that it has over the One X.

But if I'm playing a game that's available on Xbox One X - how much am I really advantaged? I'm intending to wait another couple of years to see if they release a mid generation refresh, but is it really that much of a jump going from running a Samsung T5 on a Xbox One X compared to a Series S, playing Xbox One compatible games? Is the CPU really that much better?

              • @snoopydoop: It varies title to title but there's a table in this article for load times.

                https://www.eurogamer.net/digitalfoundry-2022-cross-gen-face…

One x USB SSD vs series s internal SSD can be almost the same or up to 75% faster in the series s.

There's also a lot more patched games and the list of fps boost games that see frame rate improvements. Again it's on a game by game basis that that some will see no gain while others get significant improvement.

I went from a one s to a series s and it sorts out the bad frame rates in a lot of games.

                • @Everettpsycho: Great article, thanks!

Maybe I'll consider upgrading sooner than expected then. I'll definitely feel the jump if I go to a Series X anyway.

  • +1

    Thanks once again Phalaxis!

  • do I need to use the email address of my current microsoft account? or it can be anything?

  • Did this yesterday but still haven’t received anything. Not even a confirmation email.

    • Yep, no code yet from Wednesday night.

I guess Saturday night for me would be their 3 day window, but wonder if weekend affects this.

  • +3

Anyone getting an error code. It says date of purchase is missing

    • +1

      Yes, getting the same one

  • +3

158 upvotes, no one confirmed reception of a code. (That is not an error code I meant:-p)

    • Yeah I'm waiting for my code before I give the tick! Applied late Wed night

      • It's come through and redeemed successful, so gets my upvote.

    • I have received my code in my email

  • +1

Doesnt work for me either as i keep getting the purchase date / receipt error.

  • Just got email with a code. Signed up on the 12th.

    • Still nothing here, signed up on the 12th, about 10pm.

  • I just received my code. Standard 25 digit key.

  • +1

Just got mine through on an account I didn't change from NZ. @wakrak you posting this in cheapies or shall I 🤣

    • Go for it.

  • +3

Got mine as well. Extended my current subscription by one month. Thanks OP!

    • Was going to ask that question as I am on GPU until next year.

      • +2

        Can confirm. Mine went from 2 December 2024 > 3 January 2025.

    • +4

I have tried to register another account and redeem. Despite it is said that "Register for a Legion account or Sign in to opt in and redeem your exclusive 1-month Game Pass Ultimate redemption code. No purchase required." But I got an error saying: "ERROR: Date of Purchase is missing.; Place of Purchase is missing.; Receipt is missing.". Guess someone from Lenovo made a mistake here. Muzeeb, is that you? :)

      • Same here

      • Also getting this error.

        • You guys are mistaken. The deal is for a Free 1-Month Xbox Game Pass error code. :-D

  • yea getting the same error

  • Got my code today. Note that expiry is apparently October 20th. Don’t hold on to these for too long.

    • Did you get emailed, or did you need to check your account?

      • I got an email. The title is Game Pass Ultimate Giveaway

        • +1

Thank you! Nothing yet for me unfortunately.

          • @snoopydoop: Happy to help! I signed up on the 12th so it took two days to arrive. Hopefully you will get yours soon

            • @TripleJ2: Same here, did it at about 10pm. On a few accounts too so worried that might have flagged me haha.

  • Worked fine for me.

  • +1

Anyone with know a way around this? "ERROR: Date of Purchase is missing.; Place of Purchase is missing.; Receipt is missing.".

  • I just got my code and it works.

  • Got mine today. Code added 1 month to my subscription that was expiring in Dec 2022, now it's shows Jan 2023.
Don't forget to turn off recurring billing if you don't want automatic payments to come out.

  • Worked for me and got my game pass code, no longer working on new signups, I get the error code

  • got my code. just in time, scorn comes out at 9pm. preloading right now!

  • +1

    Just got mine

  • +2

Just received the game pass ultimate code. Remember to turn off recurring billing if you don’t need it. Thanks.

    • Yes, it requires recurring billing by default, which I wasn't expecting but probably should have. Easy to turn it off immediately though.

  • +1

    I'm getting an error:
ERROR: Date of Purchase is missing.; Place of Purchase is missing.; Receipt is missing.

Did anyone else get this and is there a workaround?

  • Got my code the other day and redeemed without any issues.

  • Has anyone received today? I'm on my third day now but not sure if maybe it's done manually and not on Saturdays? Or maybe I'm not getting.

    • I received mine on Friday but didn't realise it had arrived until today because it was quarantined as possible spam. Check your Junk folder first, if it's not there and you used a corporate or school email address then ask your local I.T. team to look in the quarantine.
