What Credit Card Do You Find to Be The Best for Overseas Travel Currently?

With travel gearing up again in a big way especially closer to Christmas, I'm looking to research more on what people think is the best card for overseas travel.

Perks such as lounge pass, no overseas merchant fees, insurance cover for rental excess etc might be pluses etc. What do you think is the best card to hold for overseas travel?

    28degreescard

    insurance cover for rental

You need a reward card for that.

Edit: Have two, one for pre travel plus benefits (rewards card) and one for during, without the init transaction fees etc. Better have two, incase one get locked or stolen during your travels.

ING for withdrawing cash and Coles Mastercard for purchases.

  • 28 degrees for purchases with no FX. Amex Plat Charge for lounge access & insurance. Up or ING for cash withdrawals.

  • I just saw that westpac have a new thing (looks like a debit card though) with no fees. I just ordered one for my upcoming trip as it only took 2 minutes as i already bank with them

    Anyone tried that?

    • if it's anything like some of the other ones, they usually make their money in bad conversion rates and skimming a bit off there

  • I always use cash.

  • Bankwest card? Not anymore?

    • Platinum has no international fees

      Citibank for withdrawals

    Ubank debit

  • Currently tossing between commbank ultimate award and hsbc premier. Both with probability of no monthly fee, reward, travel insurance, and no international transaction fee. Unfortunately still have to pay for the lounge.

  • ING debit for withdrawing cash
Bankwest credit for purchases and hotel card authorisations.

    Easy.
