It's only 400 bonus trade in credit.
I can't really understand what happened when I purchased 2 X S22 Ultras
Got them for around $1.1k and that was for the 512GB versions.A while back when Amazon had some Amazon Day deal, I price matched at JB. It was somewhere in the 1.6k range. Got $180 for our S10+ but had no intention of sending them in so knew they would rebill us for that one day, but that didn't stop us from getting a $500 trade in voucher and that price applied to the new purchase. Bought them outright. Anyone know if that sounds right or did we slip through a net? This was over 3 months ago. So all up a S22 Ultra 512GB was $1156 each.
Not sure if this was legit, but I read that someone was blacklisted from future trade in deals. If that's the case then I wouldn't say you "slipped through the nets". If not, congrats on the deal
Guess it wouldn't bother me too much if I was blacklisted. It's probably true as the 3rd party trade in mob were super Karen's with their 100 auto generated where the f is phone emails. First phone I've ever purchased from JB in my life.
Got all the receipts, happy that share. Here I was thinking the right price for a S22 Ultra 512GB was sub 1.2k.That's kinda funny… Did someone say this in the deal thread?
Yeah it was on the last prime day sale S22 ultra on amazon thread
I did the same but I bought 256 GB version and I didn't send my note 10 plus basically s22 Ultra 256 GB cost me $900
@mardetanha8033 yeah. I assume they'll close that loophole if that's what we keep doing.
Were you completely confident like me when you did it that they only wanted your note 10 (and I assume they debited for the note 10 you didn't send in.
As my wife and I did it both it was $500 twice over and I couldn't work out why they let the 3rd party trade in mob or JB take that 1k hit just for little old us
Sounds about right, when i bought my s22 256gb a few months ago for under $500, I remember if I got the ultra it would have been $11xx-12xx
Does Samsung phone’s still lag?
No offence 🫡
They are pretty fluid but the camera in experience lags and battery isn’t impressive since it’s snapdragon fabricated by Samsung, not the best.
Mine's (S22 128GB) been in use since April and unfortunately I have to report the camera lags were introduced somewhere along the way with an update. Battery in my experience has been vastly better than some people's (but of course not the best).
Been using Note 10+ … I think it is one of the best phone!
I also tried iPhone 12 Pro Max for 2 weeks, it is nothing compared to Note 10+
Samsung is solid … iPhone is good is you are using Apple Ecosystem, else, I haven't had a strong enough reason to buy iPhone
I see a fair few for sale on Marketplace for close to $1,000.
What to look out for in a used phone?
It's either this or a Pixel 7 Pro.
Its not bad OP.
However, IMHO I think ebay is better ATM, I got a new 512gb/12gb Ram with JB receipt with 2 yr warranty for $1760-$123= $1657 incl postage delivered (with generic ebay 7% coupon). + Don't forget buy ebay gift cards first before checkout, I forgot to save 3% extra; total fail on me :((https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=samsung+s2…
Better pay a little extra 256/512gb instead than just 128/8gb on this cheaper 128gb, even ebay Mobileciti is only $1756 ($512gb) after coupon. So quite good prices, did not even bother to look for 128gb version as not worth it IMO; especially when it comes to resale value & 8gb/128GB will run out of space quickly (non expandable) if you took fair amount of fotos and video with the 108MP camera. But each to their own.
FYI, I dont work for ebay or any association with them, just thought it might help others
Cheers :))Agree, even i got 256gb with officeworks price beat. Forgot flybuys :( . Jb didnt price beat. ebay is good price but overseas model. So warranty can be issue.
I used to love Samsung, but switched to iOS, mainly due to fluidity, and OS updates- for Samsung you get 2 major updates followed by 2 security updates; whereas for iOS it’s about 6 years worth of major updates.
Well you didn't do your research because it's been plastered everywhere online that it's now a guaranteed 4 years + 5 years security. Even the 2019 S10 had 3 years guaranteed.
Thanks for that, wasn’t aware being honest. I had the S9 used for a good 4 years till support ran out.
Its one one the reason I chose samsung too, compared to many chinese band like Oppo, Xiaomi once they sold the hardware you'd be waiting a longgg time for next update version update and security too. Although Xiaomi recently updated to 3yr OS and 4yr Security updates, with Samsung up their Ante putting the pressure on the rest of Android manufacturers.
Battery sucks on the S22U.
Hopefully they address it in the S23 range.Care to share your experience with this phone?
I have mine set to stop charging at 85%, I use it a lot at work for 8-9 hours, averaging 3-4.5 hours screen-on time. When I get home I have 30-35% left.
I have always charged every smartphone I have every night, so this is working great for me.
It's OK for that size & features. At least it charges faster than most with 25 or 45W Super Fast 2.0 charger.
You use charge limiter or app like AccuBatery (20-80%, I have remainder at 71%) to keep the batt health high. I have >3.3y Galaxy Nte10+ with 88% battery health. When I showed it in the Apple store they said iPhone's battery doesn't last that many years.Compared too? People are spoilt
My Pixel 2 was crazy good over my Sony so I assume Samsung's s22 10 hours beats my Pixels 3 hours 🤣
Lol try using my 12 mini that 2 year old. Now that battery sucks even on iOS. From 7:30 am to lunch my battery was less than 15% and the charging was slow. Had to use two magsafe battery to keep the phone alive.
Damm
I'm not sure how bad the S22 is? I wonder if people mean some have a battery drain issue which would suck.Im trying to research.
My wife has the s22 5G 128 GB and the battery life is decent. If you can wait the s23 looks to be much better.
@ChickenAdobo: Yeah, but it'll also cost alot more.
People are selling brand new upgrade phones on marketplace for under 1k
Brand new s23 ultra will be $1500-1800+
I am using a 12 mini atm too for about 18months. Battery lasts all day but have to charge at night. Battery health at 95%. I only use cable and old 5w charger.
I believe wireless charging does a lot of harm due to high temp/heat. Wife (who uses wireless charging) has hers at 84% health.Hmm. That very good for an 18 months 12 mini. I'm assuming it just for text and calls? Magsafe charging definitely kills the battery. Keep doing what you are doing with your charging habit.
As for me I have moved on from the 12 mini. The battery life didn't last long at 87% battery health
@ChickenAdobo: Didn't see this earlier. I use my phone a lot. It is used to monitor things like Tesla App etc. throughout the day. I use it for voice typing on word docs, update notes and to take lots of photos + fitness/health stuff through Garmin Connect. Media consumption is low due to screen size and am mostly at home in the evenings so use big screens for that.
Not interested, needs more cameras.
What more do you want in a phone? It has
- Main
- Ultrawide
- Telephoto
- Periscope Telephoto
He/she was attempting to use sarcasm
I have used S2, S5 and now using S9+. One thing that I have noticed in the latest galaxy phones is that you cant uninstalled certain apps. They are also called pre-installed apps or bloatware.
This is one of the main reason why I am thinking to moving to a different phone other than Samsung. If I dont want to use Facebook or Instagram I cannot uninstall them. There are lot of other pre-installed apps as well. I think this is a major security risk and also it is forcing people to use certain apps that they dont want to use. Other than that I realy like the hardware quality.A 5 year old phone isn't exactly "latest", newer Samsungs let you uninstall all the third party bloatware
Thats great to hear. Thanks for your reply!
we run 2 X S22U 256gb paid $1500 each. Great phones but having come from Huawei mate 20 pros and 5 years between release dates it's only marginally better.. phones seem to have hit a brick wall with lack of innovation.
I agree and I have noticed that too, but what do you want them to do? Be faster, take better pictures, nicer image quality, and offer less problems.
