Weird that the unifi APs are coming down in price, but the UDM pro are going up in price so much.

    • +1

      Yeah it sucks so much.

    • +1

Unifi is expensive compared to Tplink's OMADA.
We moved from Unifi to Omada. Software & concept is similar.

      • How do you rate it compared to Unifi?

      • Never heard of it to be honest, but after some research I'm very interested. I'm only a home power user and this price is hard to beat!

        Any thoughts/comments on use?

  • Can we do a deal on Aqara smart locks please?

  • +1

Hey rep, any deals on UDM pro or SE?

    • +3

Will check with Vendor and keep you posted

  • +1

When does the sale end, Rep?

    • +1

      While stock last

  • +3

I wish someone would stock the damn G4 Doorbell Pro already hahah

    • +1

ETA will be later in the year, will check and let you know sooner to the release date

      • can you please let me know as well (and also any ETA for the Gen 2 16 port PoE switch?). About to get the keys to our new build in December and keen to have all the unifi gear squared away,

    • +1

They barely have stock in the US
Imagine a doorbell getting sniped by bots

Any deals on the Flow X16? :)

    • +2

Not yet for Flow X16 yet, will take your feedback to Asus & keep you posted

      • +1

I've also been waiting on a deal with x16 flow (3070 to version at least). Hopefully an update soon as my current laptop is dying

    • Why do you need a x16? Last year's M16 can be had for $2200 at hn

      • Not a gamer, but it seems to be the only 2 in 1 with a colour-accurate, high refresh-rate screen, Ryzen internals (and corresponding battery life), and RAM slots. dGPU is a bonus in this scenario, though would settle for Ryzen 6000 iGPU.
The optional 1100-nits, mini-LED screen is also pretty enticing; not sure if its worth the premium.

        • +1

Mini led is $4000 though! I'm looking at the cheaper IPS 3060 version at $3k for gaming

  • Heya rep any idea when U6 IW will be coming?

    • +1

      Hi Almundo,

ETA is end of the month, we will get pre-order listing up soon, will keep you posted

  • +5

Any chance the U6-LITE's will get a discount too? Been a while since they've been around the $130-140 range :-)

  • Thanks got the MX

  • Any deals on the MX Master 3S? Cheers

Any deal on the UDR? :)

  • The house I'm building will be ready in December, and I have ethernet backhaul going in for wireless APs so looking to replace my Netgear Orbi mesh system. Is there an intro guide for the Unifi gera anywhere?

Does it need a UDM as a central switch/controller in addition to the APs?

I built my home 2 years ago. Only regret is the wiring. Going through redoing everything now. Honestly if you haven't already talk to a pro now. A lot of the ubiquiti stuff is PoE which is awesome, but also has specific considerations around cabling and hardware

    • +1

You don't need any central hardware but you do need to run the unifi controller software somewhere, at least to set it up. Can run it on windows, Linux or raspberry pi. If you're building then have a rack somewhere and get a poe switch. I got a second hand Netgear 24 port gig switch for $120. What the person below said about cabling requirements isn't really true. You just need to stick to cat 6 below 100m runs and you'll be fine. I would advise getting multiple lites over the pro. As for other ubiquiti gear, some people go all ubiquiti but they are pretty sucky for routing. Imo the best setup is ubiquiti APs and mikrotik router. For switches mikrotik would be handy too but I ended up with Netgear which is fine (try buying a second hand mikrotik Poe switch for $120 :)

      • Thanks for the pointers, will help a lot with targeting my research. Cheers

      • +1

Re cabling, I simply meant that if you have a PoE device, you need an ethernet cable where it goes, and on the other end of that cable you either need a PoE switch or an injector. So mapping out which devices are PoE, where they are going, and how they will be powered is prudent to do while there is good access available.

    • +1

      No you don't.

You just need a raspberry pi or, for me just an old laptop that can be used as a controller for all the WiFi Access points.

You just need to install Debian 11 X64 and then use the easy script to install the UniFi controller on that.
You also have the ability to remotely control those APs.

      Easy script

In terms of the POE switch, I used a cheap TP-Link one for ~$80 - $100 with 4 ports POE, which is more than enough to power 4 APs.

      • Thanks!

I have 2 set up at a holiday house, but no controller (configured via mobile app) and they lose their config if they ever lose power. Because I'm not there often I haven't properly troubleshooted it yet. Will need to find a device to run it on.

Using probably the same PoE switch as you.

New house will be easier if I can install the controller on my NAS PC.

  • @Wireless1 rep any idea if the U6-Pros are affected by this advisory?

U6 Pros manufactured between June and August 2022 may unexpectedly reboot, or may not turn on, when multiple U6 Pros are connected to the same switch using Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) Ethernet cables

    Cheers

    • My U6Pro date code is within the affected range. Does it have a firmware patch or hardware modification to rectify it?

  • Any discounts for the USW switches?

  • Sounds like there’s some demand across everything Ubiquiti. Hopefully rep can come through with some killer deals ;)

  • I just finished setting up on U6 Pro. In comparison to my good old AC68U, the U6 Pro has faster speed, but shorter range.

Any special settings I need to watch out for the U6 Pro? Currently, I am using 20Mhz channel on 2.4Ghz, and 40Mhz channel on 5Ghz. WPA2/WPA3.

  • +2

I'm in the market for a

    U6 IW
    UDM Pro SE
    USW Aggregation
    6 x G4 Pros
    6 x Sensor Lights

Are you doing a sale for all of these anytime soon?

  • +1

    Any discount on UDM SE?

    • Hoping for this also. A few comments above seeking this.

    • +1

Might be better off trying to grab them from an ebay sale - I picked one up recently during the 22% off ebay plus event for about $770 (with discounted gift cards), and got two u6 pro APs for just under $220 each

  • If I have network wired ethernet available in the two locations am I better off running two of these or getting my hands on a mesh system? Keen for simple plug and play.

  • code not working on the MX Mechanical Keyboard ??
