Looks to be a good deal at $200 off RRP, and local stock instead of the prior Amazon deals.

Get a 5700X for $369 instead.
Runs cooler and pretty much the same performance as the 5800XWorth upgrading from a 3700x?
for gaming, worth if you using 1080p monitor. 2K and 4K gaming or more gpu bounds, barely any difference (if not at all).
Thanks. Saved me spending..guess will save for the next gen.
@IamaCam: Next gen has a different issue: price is too crazy for AM5 motherboard + Ryzen 7000 CPU + DDR5 RAM (and AMD/NVIDIA next gen GPU if you do the full combo).
@Masticccc: And probably GPU if you want to do it properly.
This right here. 5700x is only 1 or 2% slower than the 5800x at best. The 80$ plus how much the delivery cost (centrecom is free shipping at least to metro areas) saved in your budget can go to some better tiered ram or cooler to up the oc headroom and you can easily get better performance.
Is it worth to return 5600x $240 and buy 5700x?
If you use it just for gaming, the extra cores won’t be beneficial in most games.
If you do streaming, video/photo editing or other multicore applications then it might be worth getting the 5700XFor gaming the only upgrade I'd consider is the 5800X3D, but a different league cost wise. (Maybe in a couple of years when they drop in price as an AM4 last hurrah).
BPC, Centrecom and MWave all have a free shipping threshold under $150ish, so definitely a better option than JW
BPC Tech 5800X (low stock)- $449 + free delivery
https://www.bpctech.com.au/catalog/product/view/id/36201/I thought this was some crazy x3d deal lol
lol, I thought the same. as per some german retailer, x3d is the highest sold CPUs over any other CPUs. Almost 8X the 12600K they sold.
Yeah waiting for a 7000 x3d chip, or a crazy enough deal on a 5800x3d to make me buy into another AM4 machine.
If 5X3D ever comes down to 450, I would grab one and be done with upgrades for another 3 years.
5700x or 12600k?
If you have an Am4 board and ram, 5700x. If not the 12600k, you'll want DDR5 though for max performance.
If you have a supported AM4 board. B350 is still stuck on 30x0's :(
:O Turns out mine supports 50x0 series now after some BIOS updates (I was told they wouldn't ever be released and bought a 3070 thinking it's end of life).
5800X now $299 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0815XFSGK/ref=ox_sc_ac…
Similar performance to 5700X but higher TDP. Could be binned better(?), I'm not sure. I'm still waiting for a 5700X deal because my ITX rig is running on a 650W PSU and I'm also looking to upgrade my GPU.
This is not that great a price for a 5800x and even then there is no reason to buy a 5800x now that the 5700x has effectively replaced it.
