Hey guys, and thanks for posting the deal HamBoi69. These tips will help :)

A new customer is defined by NordVPN, and nothing to do with your Cashrewards account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same Cashrewards account as always, and you're good to go.

Click 'Shop Now' or 'Shop Offer' and buy - don't click away to other sites looking for codes and don't use any 3rd party plugins. Best to use the Cashrewards mobile app on 4G/5G as this eliminates potential issues with WiFi/router firewalls etc. Tracking for NordVPN typically takes 1-4 hours.

Remove any up-sold products from your cart such as NordPass & NordLocker as they are ineligible for cashback.

A tip from comments in previous posts is to select a country with no GST to save further at checkout as GST is ineligible for cashback.

And finally please remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail. All the best :)

    • what is a country with no GST pls ?
so connect via a country with no GST and then go through CR ?

      • +1

        USD

      • +1

so connect via a country with no GST and then go through CR ?

No. Go through Cashrewards first, then at checkout change to whatever country you wish. As per my comment above, do not exit Nord's website once you click/tap out from Cashrewards. Thanks.

    • +1

The instructions should say, do not select the Complete plan, and instead selet the standard plan.

    • Is there a deadline of when we have to 'activate' or use it? I have my Surfshark expiring in about 9 months.

      • +1

It activates when you buy it. Regardless, just hold off until a month or two out as this deal usually appears fairly.regularily.

    • Will this work if transaction is completed while connected to a VPN server?

  • Can anyone on a 1000/50 nbn plan share their speed tests using nord?

    • +2

I have iiNet Ultra Cable broadband (gets speeds up to 600mbps), tested and get upwards of 300mbps. A very happy customer would highly recommend it, especially with this cashback too!

    • with nord vpn- https://www.speedtest.net/result/13756906011
      no vpn- https://www.speedtest.net/result/13756912688

On 1000/50 with AB, only 2 devices connected to router, no data hungry browsers or tasks going on.

Nothing impressive with nord though, have had better speeds in the past.

  • Does the gmail trick as a new email address still work?

    • +1

You won't know until you try it.

Why not just create a new Gmail a/c? You can fwd emails to your existing one.

    • +2

      Which state?

      • +3

        His state of mind (bonkers)

        • I was thinking they couldn't run covid checkin, so how they gunna run a vpn service? ;-)

    • +1

Also interested in which state and any other recommendations and their costs?

      • +1

Soda-pop believes all VPNs are owned by the 5-eyes aka NSA.

Probably even thinks Kaspersky sends data to the NSA lol

        • -2

Major Anthony Nelson worked for NSA.

  • How does this work for AU customers? Do they charge the 10% GST on top of their prices?

What would be the best plan to get?

    • +1

The site is really confusing with the cashback. With a few different options available, what is eligible and what isn't?

    • Nord adds 10% GST if you select Australia. You can just change your country to another one to bypass tax.

When I signed up recently I went with the 2 year plan, VPN Only. As per the above their other apps etc aren’t all eligible.

    • +1

I see $142.83 (no GST if I select a different country) for the 2-year plan ($5.29/mo) + 3 months FREE.

I am assuming the above amount is in USD.

      • +1

That's the complete plan. Change to standard

        • Yes, complete rookie error. There is no cashback for NordPass and NordLocker products.

          Standard = $83.43USD ~ $128AUD

          • @DoctorCalculon: A$115.63 on my Westpac card.
            A$110.09 tracked from Cashrewards.

            • @ohhmygod:

              A$115.63 on my Westpac card.

              Nice!
Could you please confirm your USD amount paid was $83.43?

The AUD exchanged amount I quoted above was from Revolut.

  • Not sure if it's the same, but i jumped on one of these deals for surfshark and it made my gaming quite laggy and often had to restart the VPN. Just ended up not using it

    • +4

Why would you use it for gaming?

      • I don't specifically use it for gaming, like everyone else I use it to keep the data encrypted. I leave it running in the background and if it's not restarted before i launch a game, it's laggy.

  • +2

A good alternative for surfshark? - my 3 year deal is coming to an end.
Does nord work on google tv, phone app, desktop app etc the same - does it have dynamic dns for things like bbciplayer too ?
    thx

  • +1

do these guys have VPN to India? saw that they removed the VPN access from Indian servers

    • +3

      no india

    • -1

Surfshark has virtual server for India and works flawlessly.

      • -1

Any deal like this for Surfshark

  • Are there ever any deals for existing customers?

    • no. easy enough to create a new account

  • Thanks, signed up for the first time (leaving PIA). Cashrewards tracking email received about an hour later.

    • Why did you leave PIA? I am trying to do the opposite in December when my Nord subscription expires. Nord doesn’t have India server anymore while PIA does

      • PIA was expiring this month. I only did this to save, no brainer for 2 years + 3 months for almost nothing. PIA was great, good speeds, the App is excellent, no complaints.

  • The old surfshark expires in 3 weeks so jumped aboard back on the VPN merry-go-round.

Simple as pie via the mobile app. Cheers OP & TA.

  • My NordVPN 2 year plan is coming up to expire now from the last deal. I also have NordPass which I really like. What would be the best strategy here to get the cashback and retain my content?

  • So is "Nord Complete" with NordLocker considered an upsold product and not 97% cashback? Because $2.50 (after cashback) for 1TB of cloud storage for 2 years is not a bad deal, with a VPN to boot.

It's a plan, not an upsold product, correct?

    • Give it a go and see. Worst case scenario you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail.

    • Already tried. You won't get it

    • +1

Yeah, Tightarse's instructions appear to be out of date, as the plan now includes the extra products.

I signed up for the complete , then I realised it included the extra products, so I cancelled and signed up again. Now I have to wait for the refund.

Has anyone had issues with the refund actually getting refunded?

    • Its not included. Mine just tracked and it was not the full amount

  • +1

Can you cancel the plan immediately so it only runs for 2 years without getting renewed?

    • +2

Yes you can set it to stop auto renew.
I noticed when I signed up this time round auto renew wasn't enabled in my subscription.

      • +1

        Thanks, found the option.

  • +5

Signed up, cashback tracked and email received.
Paid $115.63 for the standard plan signed up selecting US postcode 90210 using macquarie card. $107.88 cashback so total cost $7.75 for 2 years. Thanks OP!

    • +1

What was your cost in USD?

    • -3

      Isn’t that tax fraud?

      • +3

        "Tax minimisation" - Kerry Packer.

    • what is the cash back amount in USD? I just received the tracked email and showing 75.20 USD and 109.29 in aud.

      • +1

I received same with yours, but pending and due to january 2023 pay out.

Hope the cashback is not cancelled out by itself once the 30 days lapsed

        • Doesn't Cashrewards offer a cashback guarantee provided you have abided by their T&Cs?

    • Thanks, I just followed your approach using Revolut one-time use card. Got exactly $115.63 charged. Waiting for Cashrewards to get tracked, not happening yet. May I know how long did it take to get tracked?

      • Mine took about an hour or so

        • I have just got my order tracked. Thanks for sharing.

  • +2

I selected Fiji and it showed no GST/VAT. (Great!)

    I selected the 2 year plan $3.09/mo - US$83.43 (Great!)

Cash Rewards tracked at USD$75.25 (umm why, when there was no GST?)

Got charged [email protected] (which is USD$83.43).

So basically Cashrewards pocketed 97% of the USD$8.18/AUD$12.58 (???)

So the total refund is more like 86%, not 97%.

    • GST component is excluded from the cashback

      • +2

yeah but I didnt pay GST.

        Total without GST is USD$83.43
        With GST is USD$91.77

        • Same thing happened to me, bit of a rort by Cashrewards

    • +1

I put this down to a bug with the website, even though the website says its not adding GST. It still adds it when I selected Fiji.

Make sure you select USA like @Heybargain and not any random country which shows no GST

      • i selected USA (no GST), still have the similar problem with what you experienced.

even worse, i only received a pending cashback amount of USD$75.20 (5 cents less than yours when i selected USA)
not that 5 cents matter, but more to how the heck does the system works… i have no idea.

        • +1

Up above, tightarse says that the currency gets converted twice, so I think he means it goes from AUD to USD back to AUD.

Interesting you chose USA and you had the issue. Where @Heybargain chose USA and he didnt have the issue.

    • +1

Same as you. Maybe CashRewards just assumes all purchases include GST?

Edit: I just checked and I was only charged $115.63AUD, cashback approved at 109.63AUD or 94.8%. I don't understand where these numbers are coming from, but for 22c/month I'm not going to complain too much lol

  • is surfshark any better than this in terms of performance and privacy? cos shopback offers 90% cb for it.

  • I see 2-year plan ($3.69/mo) + 3 months FREE
    $99.63 How do I get $3.09/mo?

    • same here…

    • Shows up $3.09/m for me.
Have you tried incognito and see what it shows?

      • +1

using the CR app to sign up and the amount showed correctly for me.

        • +1

Yes it worked through the app just now, thanks

    • go to PRICING menu, switch to STANDARD

  • Excellent got one to try out, first VPN service I've ever purchased. Thanks Op!👍

  • +1

Just purchased this.. charged 127 bux but I can't see any cashback on cashrewards…..

    • +2

Just got an email: Your cashback has been tracked from NordVPN✌️

  • Anyone else have a payment error? Tried selecting US as the country for no gst but it's say I dont have enough funds in my account. I definitely have enough. Do I need to use a specific card?

    • had similar experience in morning. Tried now, it worked. Thanks OP. Now waiting for cashback email :)

      • No problem here.
        Used Citibank.
        Crome Incognito
        Hope that helps.

  • +1

Would love to see Express VPN with 100% cashback…😜😜🤣🤣🤣
    I know guys, I am dreaming…🙄🙄😴😴

    • 110% so you get the gst portion as well :)

  • -1

I currently have a 3yr Nord Subscription (soon to expire). If I sign up for this "new" account using a different email address, I assume I also have to create a new Cashrewards account under that same/alternative email account? That's a bit of a pain…

    • +2

As TA said in his comment above,

A new customer is defined by NordVPN, and nothing to do with your Cashrewards account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same Cashrewards account as always, and you're good to go.

  • I didn't remove NordPass & NordLocker, I did check but couldn't see it!

They don't refund them either, so had to refund the whole purchase. stupid.

  • Do most people bother using a different email to join a VPN or don't worry about it?

    • I have 2 emails. One for personal, the other for shopping.

So pretty clear ill be using my junk email.

  • I have a question re Nord and auto renewals.

Is it easy to turn off? or do I need to remember to cancel in 27 months time?

What usually happens around that time? to they notify by Mail?

My CC expires in 28 months. typical.

    • if you read the above, its very easy and you can do it straight away.

  • I just ordered but forgot to turn off my ad block, it looks like it didnt track fml. Should i refund and reorder it using CR app.

    • Yeah, but note that you might want to create a new Nord account just to be safe!

      • How quick do you see the cashback tracking show up in your account?

        • About an hour, but remember you can always send a claim in and you have the safety of the 30 day money back guarantee from Nord. YMMV

  • +1

Just purchased this. Haven't activated it yet but all seems good so far.

Kept showing up as $99.63 USD for the in both chrome and firefox (PC) for the same "Standard" VPN-only plan.
I installed CR app on android, logged in to my existing CR acct and was able to get the $83.43 USD offer, so purchased.
Selected USA, random postcode. 0% GST/VAT/Tax. Used 28 degrees card but no option to pay in USD. whatever.

So billed and credited CB. CB accepted and pending, relatively quickly.

Purchase in AUD: $115.63, as many mentioned before.
CR Credit in AUD $110.09 (USD $75.32) - slightly better than others mentioned.

So assuming this is approved, 27 months VPN for $5.54 AUD, 20 cents a month. I don't have an emoji for how good that is.

Works out 95% off for me, but I won't be writing in any letters of complaint.

    • +1

Got the same deal but only $110.06 back. For 20c/month, winning!
