Looking for a Cheap Second Hand Laptop

Hi guys, any recommendation on cheap, second hand laptops? Scrolling thru marketplace and there are billions of them. Mainly will be using it to do development, write codes and web browsing.

My budget is <= $300. Would chromebook be a good fit here since I will be using Linux anyways.

    Plus loads of other options like HP EliteBook 840 G3, G4 or Thinkpad X280. Can be found under $300 if you know where to look.

      +1 for a ex-corporate Latitude or equivalent. Much tougher than cheap consumer laptops.

      But if you are using it for coding, I'd recommend full-HD and 16GB. The above 7280 with ram upgrade would be a good option.

    Best bet is a refurbished 7th/8th gen laptop. Wait for a deal here. Cheap new laptops are far less powerful than refurbed mid-high range laptops from years ago.

    Keep in mind that the battery life may not be that good in a used laptop.

      New battery usually somewhere between $40 to $80.
