I find Amazon whisky deals attract a lot more upvotes than I'd expect for their prices.
Taking this Gentleman Jack deal for example. I've had it once or twice, it's one of the better bourbon I've enjoyed and I have a much stronger preference for scotch. I've bought this, and recently, for ~$40-45.
I'd say my most commonly used OzB deals for alcohol are the Coles Online ones. You wait for the recurring and not infrequent 20% promotions, you pick out items on special, and throw in a Fly-Buys deal that applies to Coles generally (1200 points for $30 spend, or 2000 points for $50 spend), and suddenly you can get a net cost ~40-50% less than RRP. No waiting months or risking denial of cashback, in the case of CR and SB deals.
But the Coles Online deals rarely attract the same upvotes or attention than the Amazon ones.
Coles Online (via Liquorland) currently have the 1-L Gentleman Jack for $64, equivalent to $44.80 for the 700mL, less if you throw in whatever FB deals might be floating around your account, and this deal has been available for two weeks. I've been picking up bottles of JW Double Black (my go-to) for ~$40. At the moment you can pick up a bottle of JD or CC 8YO for $37.60, or JW Black for $41.60 (before FBs).
The only thing I can think about is the convenience of Amazon and free delivery?

Coles do not sell booze in some states (e.g. in SA), hence less interest.

Except you don't have to spend the higher amount straight up, with risk of not being accept and not being paid out…or if approved, waiting 4 months for that 20% to come back to you.
