Cheap Phone with Big Screen and Good Camera

Hi Folks,

So my wife keeps cracking her phone screens and we've just gone through a few spares that I have from work as well so need a cheap (400-500 bucks but if something cheaper is available I am not complaining) alternative.

Basically she watches TV shows and also wants something with a good camera as she takes pics of the little one, we're looking at Android currently.

      Good question, I should update the post… I'd say between 400-500…. but if something lower is available I am all for it…

      Just lost a S20 Ultra, S10 and Note8.. Gave her an older phone every time…. now I have nothing left 😂

          I would recommend the Pixel 6a as well. It will last you 3-4 years easily. And you get good features like spam call detection, call screening, voice transcription and magic eraser.

    I'd look for a phone with:
    - Flat display
    - LCD screen
    - Install a Glass Protector
    - Use a Thick (Shock Resistant) Case
    - If possible, a low weight and passes the "bend test"

    …don't worry about the camera, tell her she needs to graduate with honours on this phone before getting a sharper camera version ; )

    What you really need is a heavy duty phone case. I've had each and every phone of mine in a Spigen Tough Armour case and never had a problem. Dorp it practically every second day and most times with the screen facing down and this case has done an excellent job so far including with my current Pixel 6 Pro. Your wife may not like the looks as these are quite chunky compared to thin and colourful silicone cases but would be much cheaper than going through a new phone every couple months. So get her an OtterBox or a Spigen Tough Armour.
