  • This is On Sale Sat 1 October .
    Also the Gas Smoker.

    • This any good?

      • +1

The Aldi Gas Smoker is great, have had one for 4 years still going well although this newer one has got a viewing window and a separate door to the wood box which is a real good improvement.

One of my mates purchased this the last time around. First time he used it, due to the heat, the external paint bubbled and peeled off.

There is one on the side of the road at Main Rd, Cardiff (Newcastle, NSW)

The bottom chamber, over the ashtray, is for wood - if someone like me wondered if it has two baking chambers.

The oven explains it itself here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ow0cV4s-2iw

This is much more accurate than I expected.

  • Seems cheap for a wood-fired pizza oven. Can anyone who has expertise with this particular model comment? I'd like to know pros and cons. There are even youtube videos on how to make your own oven. Just weighing up my options.

    • I would recommend getting one of these before committing to making your own.
Use it, and determine how likely you are to use a pizza oven and what things work for you and what things don't.
      Then decide.

I bought one years ago. Used it for one summer. Finally took it to a metal recycler a year or so after that.
      I don't cook pizza outside.

    • We used to have a similar model (matador if my memory is correct) for many years and it always worked fine for us.
However since moving to the BBQ galore Ooni clone I would never go back to this type of Pizza oven.
The (fast) high temperature and having the majority of the heat coming from the back/top instead of underneath makes a huge difference.

Or just pick it up at bunnings whenever you want for $1 less

$1 seems to get you a window

This..plus Aldi's appears slightly wider…and according to the video link, it does voice over work for late night sex lines.

So, bought a Jumbuck Chimenea from Bunnings for $75 (for our balcony). However, starting to think about this instead.

Could it be used open, giving a similar output to the Chimenea?

As for Pizza, is there a way to get heat to the top? A proper pizza oven has the heat/ wood to the side, with the heat wrapping around the round igloo top. This looks like all the heat would come from the bottom, and then escape straight out the top?

    • is there a way to get heat to the top?

You can put it upside down I guess, but refer to the manual first.

As for replacing your baclony chimenea with this ugly thing - apart from its aesthetics, I see no reason why couldn't you use it open.
