Lakeside SA Shiraz 2021 (McLaren Vale)
If 2019 was somewhat underrated, 2021 has been hyped to the heavens. The test is whether or not the wines live up to that adulation. This one? Absolutely. Young and fresh, for sure, but that is not a crime. Plush and supple with some attractive notes of coffee beans, tobacco leaves, chocolate, plums, and dry herbs. Good focus and well-crafted structure. Fine tannins then lead to a soft finish, with attractive persistence. No reason that as well as providing pleasure now, this wine won’t continue to do so for the next five years at least. 92 Points, Ken Gargett.

    Thanks Bought wasn't looking for wine but so far I have not been disapointed with any of the Bec Hardy deals I have bought here I love it when the winemaker advises to save a couple for the cellar

    Thanks Richard, ordered a case. I have enjoyed the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, just finished the last bottle last week. Looking forward to trying the Shiraz, and cellaring a few of them to see how they develop over the next few years.
