In specs it says maximum 12gb ram, so 8+4 I guess?
Maybe it's 4+4 stock?
Had this exact model for work and can confirm its 4GB soldered with 4GB ram replaceable. The screen is the worst part, only manage 150nits at max brightness so its best use this with external monitor.
specs say 250nits?
@jmeister: Most budget laptop usually cant hit that nits mention on their specs as they usually cut cost on display. I did compare this laptop screen with 200nits external monitor and the monitor beat this screen any day. I end up replace the laptop within 3 months because of the screen 🙈
specs on the lenovo website seem to imply it's got a single so-dimm slot, so yep should be upgradeable
Up to 8GB Soldered DDR4-3200 + 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200
there's also a ryzen 7 / 12gb / 512gb variant for $919 direct from lenovo if it's of any interest (coupon: CLEARANCE)

That variant does have a much better screen being an IPS panel compared to TN, plus extra brightness.
TN panel? Throws up
There are good TNs and bad TNs. Definitely something you should see for yourself before committing to buy.
I stay away full stop to avoid disappointment. Been IPS since 2016 and never going back
Definitely decent at this price with upgradable RAM and Ryzen 5 5th gen.
TN panel is where the compromise has been made, but could just check it out in person before purchase
This one also has a Ryzen 5th Gen CPU + 16GB RAM for less.
Anything out there that's decent in this price range? Not a gamer.
This..?
What are you looking for that this doesn't have? More RAM, cheaper, something else?
I believe RAM is upgradable as it comes in a 2x8 model too
