Stainless steel cup is no good for coffee. I have an Avanti cup which makes my coffee taste weird. The Sttoke cup has a ceramic inner coating and can stay hot for up to 3 hours.

      • Can you put it in a dishwasher to clean (daily)?

        • +1

          no

          Form over function unfortunately.

Hand-wash the body with warm soapy water. STTOKE cups are NOT dishwasher safe! Running a STTOKE through the dishwasher can cause paint to chip and the vacuum seal to become ineffective.

          • @ltwo: Shame. It's a really nice looking cup but I'm too lazy

            • @shiny1:

nice looking cup but I'm too lazy

too lazy just to hand wash a cup? XD

              • @superforever: Yep. It sound really dumb. I mean I hand wash my knife and a few other things. But this just adds to the "have to hand wash" pile. I just want to chuck all of my cups into the dishwasher.

I have the Contigo seems fine but the one I have a bit too large to use at home.

Review on Amazon seems not good

        • The contigo one is excellent, and I have it too, it's 9.95 at Victorias basement in store

I've been using one of the sttoke cups for 3 or 4 years now and I've beaten the shit out of it, it's chipped and worn a bit but still going strong.

That review has a really good point about the lid slide picking up a lot of gunk and being a pain to clean, but they're completely wrong about the slide not being removable from the lid: it's easily removable, just needs a solid push from underneath with something thin enough (I just use the end of a spoon handle). I'm pretty sure removing it is even detailed in the instructions that come with the cup.

I had a keep cup for years before this one and although the keep cup was a hell of a lot easier to clean (and is short enough to fit under most group heads) it wouldn't keep coffee warm as long, and most didn't resist spills anywhere near as well. I've dropped the sttoke on concrete, full of coffee, and it didn't pop the lid or spill. Big thumbs up for a klutz like me.

  • I bought the Asobu Double Wall Ceramic Mugs 2 pack 360ml from Costco for $22.99 a few weeks back. They were fantastic - kept my tea warm for a lot longer AND they are dishwasher safe!

    Reusable coffee cup. Good idea.

    • What will they come up with next!

Have this cup and use daily for 3 years. No leaks and keeps the coffee hot for long enough that the last sip is close to the same temp as your first. Not a very big cup so not suited for those that like large milk based coffee. My cup has accidentally been in the dishwasher a few times without impacting it but it's not supposed to be put in there. It's a sleek design and receives lots of compliments.

    • Not a very big cup so not suited for those that like large milk based coffee.

There are actually three sizes. The original one from a few years ago is 227ml which is too small for milk coffees. The one in this deal is the middle size which is 354ml, similar to a regular ceramic mug. There's also a taller 480ml one.

      • Ah didn't realise they had different sizes now when I bought only came on the smallest size

        • Well now you have an excuse to buy this one. :)

    • Have this cup and use daily for 3 years

Do you have problem like in the Amazon review, especially cleaning?

      https://www.amazon.com.au/Sttoke-Ceramic-Stainless-Reusable-…

      • That is one reason why I always take reviews from consumers with a grain of salt - sometimes users just don't know how to use things and blame the product instead.

This is how you clean the sliding cover.

The rubber ring is no different to any cup or flask with a seal. You have to wash it to clean out liquids.

        • Thanks, seems no C&C at Sydney now.

      • No issues cleaning. Rinse after using keeps it clean

  • can't seem to click and collect anywhere near sydney. Closest store seems to be Newcastle

    • +1

Yeah, in product page it did show some stores but in the check out page it didn't.

  • Won’t fit under most machines like my Rancilio Silvia…

    • Fits perfectly fine under a BDB

  • I got the Wacaco Lungo Octaroma for the past 3 months and for $30 off ebay, matches my other Wacaco products

  • None on Canberra. I would have preferred the smaller model anyway for long blacks.

Might get Klean Kanyeen instead… https://www.kleankanteen.com.au/collections/cups-tumblers/pr…

    • looks good, though not leakproof.

  • Saw there are Sttoke Lite on eBay, what is the difference?

    • +1

Sttoke Lite doesn't have inner ceramic coating.
