A reliable brand, low price (not the lowest which was $29.99 in Apr 10, 2022 according to camel) at $5.66 per USB

To be fair, this was released in 2017.
However, if you're buying a multi-port charger nowadays, it should at least have USB-C.
I'm awaiting a 6 x USB-C for ~$50
Maybe 2026?
Genuine question, is missing wanted features a valid reason for a downvote?
These are the only valid reasons for a Neg vote based on the product (from OzB Rules/guidelines)
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelinesIssue with product (For example:)
It does not work the way it should
It has been recalled. So, in this case, it's an invalid neg vote and should be simply "no vote"
Downvote guidelines are nonsense on Ozbargain. The mods will say that unless the comment is one of the ones on this page (verbatim!) it's a valid downvote.
So if you say "huh?" instead of saying "meh" your downvote will not be removed by a mod. The members are free to downvote the comment, though, which I guess eventually reverts the downvote.
Mob rule
I was looking for a reliable brand with the lowest price per USB Type-A, @mg_k please advise if you know anything with same $5-6 per USB Type-A that does have USB Type-C
Yeah, I agree. Wouldn't waste money nowadays with multi charger without usb-c
From Description:
Does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge
Comment:
Capped at [email protected] = 12W per port.
Less if you utilise all 6 ports.
This is a pretty old model. I reckon I've had mine for 6-7 years now. Pretty bombproof and a very solid and reliable charger if you have lots of USB-A cables. I guess these days people might prefer something with a bit more juice and some USB-C ports.
yep, second that!
i've had mine since 2016, and still being used daily.
Paid $38.5I have bought like 10 of these for all the devices around the house, they are rock solid and good value especially at this price.
If you're expecting to pay $30 to charge 6 laptops you may as well just chuck your laptops in the bin and save yourself the fire risk.
Anker 60W $33.99
Is there a 100W Anker ?
Try Big W.
Pun intended?
My question: if fast charging destroys the battery, i.e. reduces the life of the battery is it really good idea to find these quick chargers? I am actually looking 5w or less overnight charging multi plugs.
got this couple of years ago, pretty solid general purpose charger. I dont need any fast charging but it's constantly being used to charge multiple things
- ps4 controller, switch pro controller
- usb fan, usb light
- earbuds, headphone
- work phone, personal phone
- tablet (be aware it is quite slow)
- power for rasperry Pimost of my device does not take advantage of fast charging, pretty happy with this charger.
If you want another option that does 60W then RAVpower has a similar spec'd one at $21.05 (code offer expires today). I have a RAVpower with one USBc port and it works well, and is built pretty solid.
The question is how reliable is it? I'm not an expert and have used cheap USB chargers before, but this is 220V electrical equipment that will be plugged in 24/7, and this saving $13 now may become costly if it catches on fire when nobody is at home.
Yeah fair call. Whilst I take everything I buy from China with a grain of salt and keep a close watch on things that deal with power (also Xiaomi power boards for example), this needs to be called out for those who are reading this for the first time. I also have an Anker 6 port USB charger as well and have this permanently plugged in for charging. I use my RAVpower for when I am on the road/travelling. The build of both of these chargers are comparable in my opinion (both are well sealed units, not prone to exposing dangerous internal components, both are 8pin standard connection points and don't get too hot under full load of devices). Anker are start showing themselves as a competent manufacturer, where as RAVpower doesn't have the brand reputation (for me at least).
tl:dr - please take all advice on forums as personal opinion. Treat power devices bought overseas with utmost
considerationskepticism and care.
Can someone help me with this option, anyone used it before: https://www.amazon.com.au/HEYMIX-Charging-Station-Charger-Co…
no reason to go for anything from HeyMix when an Anker product is cheaper while offering the same thing
Attached review says otherwise, can someone help? https://au.bestreviews.guide/anker-60w-6-port-usb-wall-charg…
fair enough, but from what i've seen in general from the HeyMix brands, i tend to avoid them and spend that little bit more in most cases to get a better product
@yikes914: Felt like HeyMix has better features, but wanted someone techie to do a quick compare. I don't like review websites sometimes some product in list is sponsored product that's gets a higher mention.
I also have this it is solid and the best option for those who only need USB-A ports with decent output.
Here is my comment from the previous deal explaining how it is superior to the Anker options with USB-C ports.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/12396302/redir
TLDR: The way the power is distributed in the circuit, using all 4 USB-A ports on the Anker hub with USB-C only allows 1.5amps max per port.Another that has had this model for years. Definitely rock solid and perfect for charging a raft of devices overnight
thanks ordered.
I have had one of these for years. Excellent if your use case is charging a bunch of devices overnight. Mine sees nightly charging of 2x iPads + 3x iPhones.
Deal is back on, just ordered
