The Tech Ingredients channel seemed to be the instigator of everyone's interest and there's a aussie guy Ben who has plenty of great content.
Despite people trying various materials I just went with XPS foam from Bunnings. A $20 panel gives you 2 square speakers. I screwed in Wallmate plugs for attachment points in the foam and built the box frame for it to hang in. My main issue is sourcing a good glue for the canvas to foam bond. 3M reckon their #77 spray should do the job.
My home system is 7.1 so I'm thinking of making 2 to replace my front heights. I currently have 2 Yamaha satellites, on their stands, up on top of my front towers.
